first disc is definitely more of a consistently solid tracklist than the second but it still has a few good songs here and there like Ziggomatic and Meltphase!
overall it can get a bit winded at times but it captured my attention most of the time!
fav: Mt St Michel, Cock/ver10, Ziggomatic 17
terribly uninteresting production with lyrics that are mediocre at best and laughably bad at its worst. i'd say it was a fine album but it really wasn't, just a boring listen.
its alright, the only track that sorta stood out to me was amsrerdam
just the first two and last two songs would have been enough to give this a 10, what a record!
a very gorgeous sounding album with good vocals that can sound a bit repetitive due to its extensive runtime
fav: lullaby
pretty good! will only be coming back to a few tracks, but very gorgeous production at times!
fav: moon, baby blue, root of all evil
this is really beautiful actually! her voice is so soulful and the production throughout this album is just consistently so soothing to listen to!
this album will grow on me
re: ehh only barely, i mean its alright but none of it really stands out to me as much as their previous album did
re: re: relistening to this for my year end list and wow i think i finally get it, i still vastly prefer 3d country but au pays du cocaine is one of the best songs ever
edit: fuckk i think i love this album
while the old singles are undoubtedly much better in terms of vocal compared to the new ones, the vocals are a bit washed out with the production which isnt exactly bad but not amazing.
fav: IKYWT, The Last Time, All Too Well
95 -> 100
this album has really grown on me since my first listen! i love how sufjan intertwines the folk and electronic production in a way that really elevates the already beautiful and evocative lyrics!
fav: Shit Talk, Will Anybody Ever Love Me?, So You Are Tired, Javelin(To Have and To Hold)
this is really good actually! i love the david bowie-esque production paired with her eccentric yet charming vocals! her songwriting is very exquisite and overall a very cohesive album listening experience!
fav: gloria
i never really listened to the old version of fearless and honestly thank god because some of the production in these songs are so.. unfinished? it's almost as if it was a demo and not a fully realized album unlike the taylor's version. it's not unlistenable, but i'd definitely listen to the newer album if i had to choose between them.
surprisingly not as bad as i thought it'd be, a bit generic but for a debut album at 16 this is genuinely impressive!
fav tracks: Picture To Burn, Teardrops On My Guitar, Cold as You
his voice is so soothing! the strings arrangement in the first track is simply beautiful, though it does fall off quite a bit in the last few tracks.
fav tracks: coles corner, the ocean
a deep and enthralling album with impactful lyrics and electric production, i don't have the words yet to describe fully how amazing this album is!
fav tracks: born to die, look down upon us
the length of this album really doesn't do it any favors, especially with its average production and forgettable lyrics.
some tracks are good, but they really get washed out by the amount of filler in this album
this is really good actually! i'd definitely come back to this more than either/or imo, it has a lot more of the rock sensibilities that my brain itches for while still maintaining the amazing ballads hes known for.
fav tracks: LA, Can't Make A Sound, Stupidity Tries
this is so beautiful, reminds me a lot of ryan beatty but a lot more folk-leaning!
