Divorce Records Pt 2

This to me is the greatest record of one of the greatest Bands of all time and genres. Mould and Hart seem to write a songbook of anger, frustration and love. The flow of Ice cold Eyes-You´re a Soldier-Could you be the One-Too much Spice is just unbelievable in shifting the Point of View to unveil a greater drama. This record hurts (in a healing way)

'Warehouse: Songs and Stories' wraps up the Hüsker Dü discog with a SECOND double album...but a very different one to 'Zen Arcade'. The band had now moved almost entirely away from their hardcore punk roots and had now settled in alt rock/power pop territory, a sound that signals the direction Mould would take five year's later on Sugar's highly pop-centric 'Copper Blue'.

Pretty decent 80's-era alt rock, but I get the impression the stories behind the music are ultimately more interesting than the music itself. It's also waaaay too long and could do with a trimming of the fat for sure. Mould and Hart absolutely contributed to the reason why this record kind of doesn't live up to any expecations imo. Even still, I enjoyed it for what it was.

This is an instant classic for me…didn’t grow up with Hüsker Dü but I feel like I did after listening to this. Just peak 80s alt rock
