Mid Sheeran
I hate Ed Sheeran's music but this album is his best in a decade. That does not make it good though by any means. It still stinks but in such a bland, inoffensive way that it becomes offensive in a way that only he can do. I don’t even hear radio hits on here, other than maybe Curtains, so I’m not sure who this record is for. If we're lucky it might be the last one
I really enjoyed Future Nostalgia but this is the disco/funk pop revival we’ve been looking for. Grooves unbelievably hard and the songwriting on top is first class, combine Ware exceptional vocals and performances and it’s an absolute winner of a record
I have already immediately forgotten everything about this album 5 minutes after finishing it. Remarkably bland R&B that isn’t helped by the 19 song track list and nearly hour long runtime. Nothing inherently bad about it I guess but just so generic and for a sound I don’t tend to love anyway, it’s not great

I guess it’ll appeal to their longtime fans because it’s quite literally the same thing they’ve been pushing out for decades but it is not an enjoyable experience thanks to the sheer lack of variation throughout - every song may as well be copied and pasted. A couple decent solos doesn’t improve the overall poor songwriting and mixing/mastering
There are some genuinely beautiful moments on this record and I do think Fenne Lily is a great songwriter who has a unique and recognisable sound but I just don’t think that sound is for me. While Big Picture is, without a doubt, a pleasant listen it’s also unfortunately pretty boring in its constant lack of immediacy. I’m all for slower and more laboured approaches to music but this album feels like it stays in that lane for too long with only one song song kind of moving ... read more
