Happy new music Friday. Morgan Wallen starts my day off with the most hollow, nothing, pop country (maybe???) slop that I've grown used to from him.
Really immersive and powerful in a way that I'm excited to get more out of on my next listen.
Really great production especially loved the harsh drums and guitar solos in tracks like SIN MIEDO. A bit inconsistent imo, especially compared to LP offline, which was my first jpeg project I listened to. Still really fun and great but not quite up to where LP brought my expectations.
I think Post has a lane in pop country and this isn't the worst I've heard in this genre but I really dislike everything about Morgan Wallen and I think this song would sit closer to a middling or positive review if not for him.
Insanely good traditional trap songs from bladee, 50SACINMYSOCIDGAF being my favorite by far. Really surprising and really great.
To me, this is to Gluee as Crest is to 333. An evolution of a sound that was great in the past and it's brought to a new level. Where as Crest ran with the dreamy, ethereal vibes of 333, I think Eversince picks up the cold, drugged out, trance inducing sounds of Gluee, and creates something fantastic and one of my favorite Bladee projects.
Really strong vocals and production but the lyrical content feels irrelevant and drags the song down a bit for me personally.
Really boring and feels like a constant build to nothing. Doesn't help that I find Wallen's voice really annoying. Not his worst song but he's really getting complacent in being a boring pop country singer while others in the genre are making fantastic stuff.
Kinda fun and dancey but nothing that really sticks. I like that Laroi is branching out to other stuff cuz his earliest stuff was pretty boring and this is a fairly promising step up but nothing that blows me away yet.
It felt a bit inconsistent but the highs are really high and the overall vibe throughout the album is very strong. While some tracks didn't stick like others, it didn't weigh the album down too much and it still comes out in the end being a great quick little album.
Truly pathetic. Only not a 0 because the "if you're tryna hit a lick on the TD, RBC, Scotiabank, R.B.C, C.I.B.C, P.C Financial Holler at me" line is so absurd that it's funny and shows a little self awareness. Other than that I think this is the worst song of the year.
A very beautiful album that pulls me into a trance almost. In my listening experience, I felt comforted by the vibe built across the 9 tracks but I can imagine if my mental state had been different it would make it worse, this is a positive. There are a couple moments that feel a bit slow but for me they just pulled me further into the trance and there are honestly more tracks that are hooky and exciting than I expected from hearing "Never Meant" in passing over the last few years. I think the excitement of the new album wore off a little and I found myself only returning to a few tracks. On my last listen a lot of these tracks shrunk on me significantly and I don't think I'll come back to them as often as something like Happier Than Ever. I still stand by a lot of what I said about Billie's vocals and Finneas' production but overall a lot of the tracks don't come together into something that I enjoy front to back.
While a step backward in my opinion ... read more
Makes my soul yearn for the day another Ecco solo project comes out. Lyrical themes come in and out of the album making it feel cohesive, like the racial themes from early tracks like Peroxide span all the way to the closing track Blue Eyes. It's a surprisingly personal album in a way for the Drain Gang crew where I feel this is so personally Ecco's story where as other projects from say Bladee for example, that have similar themes of drug abuse and mental struggles often feel less personal ... read more
I started the numbered albums at 3 because I always hear how much people love this one in particular and I get it. There's some really good tracks on here like the beach tracks and oh starving that are a nice precursor of what's to come. My main complaint is in regard to the clarity and fidelity of a lot of the tracks. I tend to enjoy Will's lo-fi stuff and find it really charming but there were a couple of times on this project where the mix was too muffled or loud or somewhere in between that ... read more

One of my most revisited bladee projects and it constantly grows on me. Despite its length it flows very well and the track list is filled with new instant classics and some deeper cut tracks I love.
Evil bladee did not hold back. This is an absurdly consistent 30 track mixtape and vastly different sonically from bladee's collab with yung lean earlier this year. I'm torn slightly because usually bladee projects tend to grow on me and so far this one has ... read more
Beat goes insane. Ecco took a break from being a whimsical angel to pop off. We're in a GTBSG Renaissance.
