THIS IS REAL MUSIC
i rate it 3 cause it's 3 songs
edit: okay jokes aside this is genuinely incredibly funny. 3 > 87
it's very funny that he had to remove this from streaming a couple months later cause ye was a matter of fact, crazy
album exchange number 3
this feels like a very bad introduction to russian music.
i don't know what to really say regarding this album, it's just bizarre to my ears.
i can't really rate this currently. i just can't
you'd think my favorite part of this is the simple yet unnerving production, or the phenomenal lyrics, but no. it's the fucking smoke alarm beep i hear in the background during the verses.
this was good, but not great. not anything i particularly care about
that Day 'n' Nite cover stopped me from having a bit of a panic attack while on a plane
okay i need a track by track review for this one
This Is Why (Re: Foals)
i like everything about this remix except the vocals. that chorus vocal is dryer then ben shapiro's wife
[ORIGINAL ALBUM COMPARISON: stands on it's own except for the vocal lmao]
The News (Re: The Linda Lindas)
this is quite weird
[ORIGINAL ALBUM COMPARISON: yeah this song is somewhat meh now]
Running Out Of Time (Re: Panda Bear)
okay this is straight up a different song which samples Running Out Of Time
[uncomparable ... read more
album exchange number 2
i typically don't listen to stuff like this but this was a pleasant surprise to the point where i now need to check out seminal albums in shoegaze
the super 90s drums of Pearl, the more traditional alt rock vibes of Falling Down, Guilt and Something More, the way April just smouthers you with layers of reverb
the only real issues i had were on treasure, cause it was 6 minutes and also there was an odd buzzing which didn't work with in the song compared to ... read more
got handed this during an album exchange.
i didn't even initially know when it was recorded but as soon as i hit play i just knew it was made in the wake of Nevermind. you can hear Kurt's influence all over this album.
there's also a bunch of what i think is Living Colour funk metal influence.
will i revisit this? probably not but it's decent
favs: Turned Out, Ironhead, You Borrowed, FBLA II
least favs: Better, Role Model
this album is going to take me several days to finish.
SIDE A:
Frownland is almost unlistenable.
The Dust is fine.
Dachau Blues is honestly kinda a vibe
Ella Guru is a slight vibe
Hair Pie 1 is unsettling but fun
Moonlight on Vermont feels normal. i like normal.
NU METAL JOURNEY PART 3
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
favs: Somewhere I Belong, Faint, Nobody's Listening, Numb
not favs: Easier to Run
NU METAL JOURNEY PART 2
on the first listen, this was enduring and fun. i was just vibing along to the intensity and not caring for the lyrics, however then Left Behind took me out of it slightly due to the weirdly pop feeling production as if blink-182 song had a feature on a nu-metal album.
after that light roadblock, it was back to enduring groove metal which began feeling repetitive and losing my interest halfway into Skin Ticket.
i nearly quit listening but i'm glad i didn't because ... read more
NU-METAL JOURNEY PART 1
on my first listen, i chose to skip Daddy as i didn't wanna experience the heavy subject matter having already heard it partially. as a consequence, this felt forgettable. i've heard a lot of this sound done before and i kinda felt like i didn't need it.
fav: f****
least favs: blind? idk
i hate that AJR's best song happened because their father was dying. i wish it was something more positive, but sadly that's what happened.
RIP Gary Met
