I will write in english, but this is a polish album.
Overally intresting experience, intresting "concept" for an album, which in my understanding is through eyes of the child.
With very experimental sounds, haunting melodies, it is very intressting experience, but some songs tend to be too long, with not enough said. Defintly some songs stand out for me like, "Trujące kwiaty", "Zniszczyłaś to czy zniszczyłem to ja" and "Dom Nauki wrażeń", but ... read more
I really, really like it.
I am kind of new to vampire weekend, and I don’t really know their discography well.
The album is very chill, yet fun and catchy, beatifull. I love the raw sound of it, sometimes it even gets a bit sloppy (I mean instrumentals) a lot of experimentations. I don’t know if I can add much, just a very good album to have on speaker while doing something. Listening to it right now on nice and sunny morning makes me appreciate it even more.
80 -> 90 - I had ... read more
I’ve been a big fan of sum 41. I don’t care what anyone says, their approach to pop punk was different, adding a lot of little things that made them feel different. Later, after few changes in band they started doing more metal/hard rock stuff, which was also intresting, different. Albums also became very personal, and the singer seemed to show his vulnerable side.
This album feels… uninspired. Songs blend with eachother, but also blend with music in general. Albums feels ... read more
I fully expected the singer here to be 50+ but not, she is like what, 30 max?.
Anyway, about the music. It feels like coming back to some 70’ jazz music, but with a bit of modern approach, that BADBADNOTGOOD, gives us.
It is hard to comment on anything, it just feels good, can’t quite put my finger why is it so good, besides the 70’s meet modern music.
Musically, not bad, although sometimes it has some of the most awkward transition, and some of the most clunky choruses I ever heard. What hurts my ears are the lyrics.
Lyrics are integral part of songs, and here, Taylor just straight up gets annoying. It sometimes feels like “hey, I was sad, you don’t get to be sad” basically entitled brag talking.
Also it has a lot of filler tracks, few songs less in this album, and nothing would change, beside the time (also, a whole 1 ... read more
More power metal from Judas Priest, and this is POWER. Not much too say I just really really like this album. Riffs amazing, solos amazing, buildups, breakdowns, just solid as a rock.
Now this shit is intresting. I love JFAC, they were always straightforward, simple, fast, and in your face, face melter speed. I could hear they would go more “progressive” on their last album but damn, did not expect for the instrumental part to be THAT good.
Guitars are melodic, brutal, and sound heavy, and solos are what I love about metal. My face just does that grin with every new riff.
Bass tone is spot on, also, it sound fretless? Not sure, but it sits so damn well in mix ... read more
Industrial plant or whatever conspiracy theory they have I don’t really care as far as I get good music. This is album is banger.
It has a really, wide range of emotions, there is some rock, with catchy hooks, sad ballads, with great vocals, with Amazing voice control. We have also more ambient parts, even going a bit on a bleak/dark scale.
The first album listen went so well, and did not even bored me, duh, I even wanted to go listen to it all over again. I will definetly check out ... read more
I could sum it up in; if 21 savage is the only one on song, I really liked it. Features were very meh for me.
I really liked samples and beats on this album. In fact they were so good that I sometimes stopped caring about lyrics, which despite the good flow 21 has, are rather stupid at times.
Solid album, kept me interested for most of the time
I really liked it. Catchy hooks, beats are memorable, very groovy, kinda loud. Lyrically this guy is a beast, and I love him for it. Features were also decent and didn’t mess up. Very solid album in my opinion
Edit: I originally gave it 80, but I think it is a bit too much. I just don’t think it is that good, it definetly solid, but, I guess nothing so interesting, that it’d make me comeback
It’s not good not bad. Listening to the album in one sitting was tiring. Very tiring.
Few songs had some cool hooks, but either the songs were very similar to other song on the album, or to something they did previously. Only song I may comeback to is „dillema”. Again it wasn’t bad just a very hard sit through for me. Nothing stood out, nothing too offensive. It is there, but not quite THERE.
Maybe I will comeback to it someday, but I doubt it
First of all, I have seen people comparing it to Radiohead, and I just want to say nuh-uh, I can draw more comparisons to band like “thank you scientist”.
Having this out of the way, let’s talk about album itself.
It is an hour long album, having to sit through entire thing was a bit hard, even while I was on my bike ride.
Vocals felt like mumble at times. Not entirely bad, it fits, but the vocalist can achieve better sound, and I could hear it few times on this ... read more
While everybody knows smile because it is band that consist of thom yorke (homeless version) and johny greenwood (does he even age?), that album does not feel as Radiohead leftovers. Only song I can see on for example “Moon Shaped Pool” is “You know me”.
Any other song feels unique, they have their own style. It is of course similar to Radiohead, but it really does not feel as leftovers.
Johny really shines on that album, every guitar part got me interested, he has his ... read more
Music aside, production is bonkers, I really did not enjoy it, at moments it sounded as if it was Swift karaoke session. Let’s be honest, pop music is not really interesting on its own. Catchy hooks and verses are important, but what is carry for me is production, makes the song feel way more epic than it actually is. This album, does not make me feel anything, music itself is okay, production here makes me wanna listen to the original version again, which did not lay in my interest ... read more
Just a great album, still can hear her old self, but it is something new, and I am excited for what is to come. Her voice and Piano playing are as usual, interesting, and beautiful. Sometimes even haunting. It also feels like concept album, concept being religion, although I am not sure, but I have been enjoying lyrics to songs so far, just as much I am enjoying music. Best album of the year for me (so far)
Just an average album, it is definitely a call back to the begginigs, a lot of feelings, driving on nostalgia. Mix is eh, lyrics are a bit cheesy. (No fucking idea what happened with vocals especially). High point for me is Travis drumming, rest is basic, I’d even say his drumming is overkill for that album. Good try tho
Not bad, just, not quite there, I don’t think I found myself coming back to any songs except room of mirrors and inamorata. I think James should have sing more from his heart, but instead I think they are trying too hard to make a fast thrash metal album. I think if they made something similar to black album, they would have smash it. I can see those feelings in inamorata and room of mirrors, James voice is at peak and I absolutely love his singing on this album. And yes, Kirk solos are ... read more
A lot of intresting ideas, I strongly believe if they try again, they just might create a great prog album. I think album up until song called “beautiful morning” is a strong 6 or 7 out of 10. Everything after it never made me interested, or even made me want to explore it again willingly. Cosmic and beautiful morning are for me a solid 8/10 songs, and I am open to see them try again doing prog music
