Some nice digicore
“Y’all” is the brand new LP from glaive. And I had no idea that this was even releasing, I just saw it on the front page and was like fuck it, I'll give it a listen, and I made the right choice. Now, as much as I think there are some underwhelming songs. It’s pretty consistent all the way through.
83/100
My fav tracks: Asheville, Appalachia, Veni Vidi Vici, It Is What It Is, Modafinil, Polo Ponies, Weird.
just typing this out so I can balance out the review and rating ratio
A triumphant listen that is also dressed up as a call to action.
Power to Pain is the perfect name for this record, because this record is in fact powerful. It has insanely crushing production right from the get-go that has enough natural adrenaline to blow right through a car’s sound system, as well with some really gorgeous jazz ballads. But also, painful as shit, because it covers topics that are painfully realistic like genocides and the horrid time we live in where we can't ... read more
No words needed, literally.
Selected Ambient Works: 85-92 is an album that is 100% all instrumental. No words, no topics, but with this, it is still able to present a message. That message being you dont need words or topics for a proper album or for an album to be good. All you need to do is have that “Vibe”, and that vibe can be presented with just the production and nothing else. This album is catchy as shit, like almost every track is a banger. Songs like “Xtal” and ... read more
Looking at the cover art reminds me of “How broke mf’s look at wings on the table”.
Billy Woods has been an artist that I have been listening to a lot recently. Ever since I gave “GOLIWOG” a listen back in May, I have been listening to and enjoying his shit a lot. That and his 2012 album “History Will Absolve Me” have been on heavy rotation in my playlist for a while now. And I still have a decent chunk of his catalog that I need to get to but I have ... read more
It's the same themes of SRS, but brought to a whole new intensity.
IDLSIDGO is the second studio album from the legendary Sir. Earl Sweatshirt. An artist whom I have nothing but the utmost respect for. His bars, beats, and rapping performances are always quality. And going into this I was expecting nothing but the same, and yeah, I was correct, this shit is gas.
The rapping is efficient and pretty much damn near perfect. Earl sounds ambitious and mad as hell on most of these tracks. He ... read more
Ahhh chance, you never fail to disappoint yet meet my expectations at the same time.
Acid Rap is the follow-up mixtape to Chance's 2012 debut studio mixtape, 10 Day. 10 Day was the project that put Chance the Rapper on the map, at least the project that gave him a bit of a name. And if 10 Day was the lob, then Acid Rap was the prime 2012 LeBron James dunk on the music world. This shit made Chance the Rapper one of the most talked-about rappers in the scene. And I sort of see why, there ... read more
Although it does have its issues, it is still a fantastic listen.
Thanks for 800 Followers!, I guess this is the 800 follower special, but idk. Just want to thank you, absolute legends for this milestone. 1000 is near, I can smell it. Thanks for the support, especially talking about my BTTIGTP review here. Y'all are amazing, thank you.
History Will Absolve Me is Billy Woods' second studio album, and it's actually quite good. The production has this advanced sound while at the ... read more
A 40-minute lullaby.
Double Infinity can be explained in one word: relax. The sixth album from the New York indie folk band Big Thief is a very smooth, flowing, calming, and charming listen. But at the same time feels a lot like you're listening to the same song over and over again, and unfortunately kinda feels a bit boring and very one-dimensional sometimes.
This was my introductory record to Big Thief, and for the most part, I enjoyed it and thought there were some cool moments. But ... read more
An album that defies all odds. (Sorry AFUT, but this one takes the cake for album of the decade so far)
I feel like having a great imagination and creative talent is an ultimate acheivement. In this day and age where people just want to be like everyone else. And everyone else just wants to be like people, a great imagination and great creativity can really seperate you and make you totally unique. Please if you do shit that is abstract like mabey dress uniqe or make uniqe projects, keep doing ... read more
The feelings blood orange is able to create within his music are just insane. He is like definitely for me on the Mount Rushmore of Bedroom pop or Alt-Pop artists at the moment. His music is just so damn gorgeous. And ever since I heard the first single and the announcement of this album, I have been counting down the days. And that day is finally here, or some days ago because I was late, but nonetheless, we are here. And uhhhh yeah, it has lived up to the hype.
Blood Orange is kind of like ... read more
It’s pretty good, but I feel like it has a bit of a identity crisis.
Some rap songs is a project that has been heavy in my rotation ever since I first listened to it. It’s simple yet complex and experimental production is able to encapsulate me with every listen. His vocal work and pen game team up for a mix of sick flows and bars that hit your emotions hard. It’s an extremely genius album nonetheless. But I find that this album, although still very good, is trying to copy ... read more
Bravo Chance, bravo.
I am so glad this turned out the way it did. I mean yeah there are some issues, but this project was way better executed than the big day was. This mixtape was the last hope for chance. Because the big day was such a disappointment and a mess, It turned out to be by far the hardest hit for his career. It was clear he needed something decent to keep his career afloat, he basically needed a miracle. And now we have this, STAR LINE, the project that proved chance has still ... read more
It’s better than I expected it to be. I am just impressed, mind blown, and fathomed.
(My longest review yet!)
Here we have Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). The debut studio album from the iconic hip hop collective, Wu-Tang Clan. An album that has been credited for being insanely influential and one of the most groundbreaking hip hop projects ever. And it took me way to mother fucking long to get to. Which sucks because this, in my opinion, is one of the greatest hip hop albums ever ... read more
Best album of the decade so far.
Ants From Up There is the second studio album from the English rock band Black Country, New Road. This is an album that is widely loved across the internet, especially on this website. At the time of this review, it sits at a 90 user score, as well as an 88 critic score. It’s also the number one album of the decade so far on this website. Of course seeing these ratings and reviews and people saying is amazing, I got interested. But it took me way too damn ... read more
Ehhh fuck it this shit slaps
Well out of nowhere (for me at least) the YouTuber and content creator dev lemons has came out with a new album, her debut album to be exact. And it’s actually pretty enjoyable. There are heavy and beautiful instrumentals, and some pretty interesting vocal performances as well.
Instrumentally they veer between heavy/badass and beautiful/smooth flowing. Tracks like STUCK AGAIN and WHAT ABOUT YOU have these beautiful smooth and meditative sound to them. But ... read more
Not horrible, but not super memorable
This was my introduction to Renee Rapp. And I was pleased as well as left empty handed. There are cool instrumental moments and cool vocal moments. But man everything else was either boring or cringy. But not a boring that will make me giver this a really low rating. But a boring that’s just like “it’s not bad, but man it could be much more”. But yeah the cringy moments are pretty fucking cringy not gonna lie.
Instrumentally ... read more
Alfredo 2 is officially here, and it’s almost everything I wanted it to be.
Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist have teamed up once more for a second installment in their “Alfredo” series. The first one, which released back in 2020, received both critical and fan acclaim. So of course reading the reviews and opinions in the original album, I got a little excited for the second one, and my expectations were met. There are fast and catchy flows, smoothly flowing instrumentals that ... read more
Quadeca’s new album is here, and it’s quite good. It’s beautiful, fun, and jam packed full of creativity and experimentation. But also at moments, feels like Quadeca trying to go for the kill shot and make the ultimate art pop album and unfortunately kinda overthrows it. Resulting in some cuts that don’t really keep me intrigued, choruses that didn’t connect with me, and instrumental cuts that feel repetitive at parts.
Vocal wise it’s mostly good. He’s ... read more
