I Feel Like I Know You, But We Never Met
A few days ago, someone who went to my school died.
Now, I didn't know him well. In fact, I didn't know him at all. I never had any classes with him or anything, but there was something about his death that just messed with me. After his passing was announced, there was a few seconds of ... read more
MUSIC IS SUBJECTIVE
Six months ago if I saw someone with this take, I would've clowned them.
I was FAR down the AOTY/RYM-core rabbit hole, and if someone asked me my favorite albums, I would answer with any record on the top 10, just to seem cool. I've spoken about this in a ton of other reviews, specifically my review of The Beatles' "Please, Please Me", where I go a little more in-depth than I will in this one. Basically, these ratings became my opinion, and no ... read more
"DAMN.": Kendrick Lamar's most polarizing project
"DAMN." is an album I've been meaning to check out for a while. Aside from "Section 80.", this album was the only record of his that I hadn't listened to. However, yesterday my friend Blake said it was his worst, and I was shocked. I had heard nothing but praise about this record, and I enjoyed every song I had heard before. On the other hand, I didn't love 2024's "GNX", with its ... read more
Radiohead is a band that I've loved for a while, but I've never explored the member's various side projects, perhaps due to a fear of disappointment. At 36 minutes, this album is pretty short, but it uses its runtime pretty well creating a near-unmatched atmosphere for 2026 releases.
“Blue Morpho” does tend to lull you to sleep in the more ambient sections, especially tracks five and six, ... read more
RIP Mac Miller 1992-2018
Mac Miller is someone I've always known about, but I had never given a shot. I figured that if I was going to give him a listen, I would listen to his best-reviewed record. This album is many things. It is jazzy, it's chill, it's introspective, and it's never boring. But most importantly, this record showcases so much potential from Mac at such a young age, and shows how far he could have gone in his personal and artistic journey. This a super ... read more
If this album is nothing else, it's fun. Flying past in 15 songs at a blistering runtime of 22 minutes, The Descendants' "Milo Goes to College" is a seminal punk album. It's dumb, it's nerdy, it can get offensive at points, but it's fun. Milo Aukerman, who the record is named after, has the perfect voice for this record, being quick and biting throughout, and the instrumentation is just great punk. Standout songs include "Bikage", "Hope", ... read more
