A really well structured and balanced album, no skips, a surprise to know that i can enjoy vampire weekend. Still tentative to listen to their earlier stuff from what i've heard, but this albums amazing. Everythng about this is so fresh to me from the confident and sometimes sarcastic lyricism to the constant array of bright instrumentation, maybe its cos i havent listened to too much like this before but still. Classical will probably be my favourite single of this year, love that song.

On a whole, a very sad album, but smith shows glimmers of emotional spark beneath the turmoil.
Some of the instrumentation choices missed for me sadly, its maybe more ambitious than his self titled, however somewhat unrefined like on cupids trick and punch and judy. The album has some incredible moments though, starts and ends very strong.
