For my 100th review I would like to say some words on one of my favorite albums. Yeezus tells the story of a man broken by fame, society, drugs, alcohol and other vices who later comes to find the only light that could set his life on the right path. As I see it, Kanye plays into a more extreme version of himself (at the time) on this album. One where he amps up all of his toxic traits of addictions, whether it being sex or drugs, or his ignorance and god complex.

I found this to be almost completely pointless. It was sort of funny with the Rusty Intro, even it's intentionally bad. I ended up really loving this at first, and went back to it multiple times in different settings as background music when working/studying, having a good time, or just sitting down with it alone. But as time has passed and I've ... read more
I can recognize the impact this album had when it released. It's a stark contrast to the Sugarhill gang and the funk and disco sound they thrived in. Here more hard hitting drum beats and along with guitar riffs are included in a style much more adjacent to rock. This is a welcomed style switch up and I can only imagine what it might have sounded like for the audiences and the youth of the time. However, the sound hasn't really held up and sounds pretty dated and the same can be said ... read more
