An album that would go on to shape indie rock, paving the way for bands like sebadoh, superchunk, pavement, jawbreaker and even nirvana, zen arcade‘s mix of noise, (post-) hardcore and early indie melodies makes it the mother of all alt-rock that should follow.
Title track is perfect, slight dip in quality from there, some songs could‘ve been slightly shortened
While Johnny Thunders would go on to surpass this album later with So Alone and LAMF, the dolls self-titled debut is considered a early punk masterpiece for a reason. It’s as glammy as the cover makes you think it is, and thats always a good thing
