JPEGMAFIA - Veteran
90

idk where i found the motivation to write a review but it doesnt matter, heres my veteran reviewww

Veteran is the second album by rapper/producer barrington hendricks under the name "JPEGmafia".
With 19 songs and a total of 47 minutes of aggressive yet melodic chaos, this album made peggy a hot name and established him as a pioneer of the experimental artist wave from 2015 to today.

The album addresses many themes, but especially racism in the USA, which peggy experienced before ... read more

JPEGMAFIA - SCARING THE HOES: DIRECTOR'S CUT
NR

First of all: hbd, pegggyyyyy my goat is getting old now
Secondly: this is NOT a review, so it won't have a rating

I'm pretty active on r/jpegmafiamusic, and ever since the scaring the hoes: director's cut dropped, all I've been seeing is disappointment and complaints.

Maybe we're forgetting that this is a director's CUT, not a dlc.
The whole point is to change the mix and maybe add some interludes, intros, or transitions that weren't part of the original ... read more

JPEGMAFIA - All My Heroes Are Cornballs

AMHAC IS BAAAAACKKKK ON SPOTIFY

All My Heroes Are Cornballs (amhac) is the third album by rapper/producer JPEGmafia.
It’s definitely his most personal and least political work.

Peggy expresses his anger through singing, often using autotune across many of the tracks.
The production is flawless and perfectly matches each song, it’s his best work in that sense.

The comparison to the ghost~pop tape is really fitting. It’s just as melodic and introspective, but more polished ... read more

Earl Sweatshirt - Doris
90

Doris by Earl Sweatshirt is his first official album following the mixtape "Earl".

Being part of the hip hop collective Odd Future, Earl had a lot of hype especially for his return after disappearing from the scene because his mother sent him to a reform school in Samoa due to his turbulent lifestyle, giving rise to the ironic hashtag #FreeEarl.

Even though it was his first album, Doris has features that would make many experienced rappers envious. Those include RZA, Vince Staples, ... read more

Danny Brown - uknowhatimsayin¿
75

“uknowhatimsayin¿” is Danny Brown’s fifth studio album. Although it follows Atrocity Exhibition, it doesn’t continue in the same experimental direction. Instead, it’s a more restrained and grounded record that showcases Danny’s growth as a rapper.

The production is handled by Q-Tip, legendary member of A Tribe Called Quest, with additional contributions from Flying Lotus, Paul White, and JPEGMAFIA. Despite such bold names, the sound isn’t ... read more

Björk - Debut
80

Björk’s Debut, while not technically her first album, marks the true beginning, an impressive start that exceeded expectations by debuting at number 3 in the UK charts and staying there for 70 weeks.

The first half of the album is harmonious, with Björk’s angel-like voice accentuating a production that blends house, trip hop, and jazz elements. Songs like “Big Time Sensuality” and “Human Behaviour” have become classics in her discography.
However, ... read more

Death Grips - The Powers That B
88

The Powers That B is definitely Death Grips’ heaviest and most introspective project.
It’s divided into two parts: N****s on the Moon, which features Björk’s vocal fragments used in an extreme way, and Jenny Death: noisy, punk, hardcore.

Let’s be honest: Jenny Death is better than N****s on the Moon. The Björk vocal samples make the first part of the album feel like one continuous song, since the sound often seems the same. However, that doesn’t mean ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - IGOR
100

IGOR is the reason i listen to music
tyler's best album, i don't think he can top that
fav tracks: a boy is a gun, gone gone/thank you, are we still friends?

Kevin Abstract - Blush
75

this album has more people in it than bonnie blue
good album, but the lack of a clear main artist makes it lose some character
fav tracks: nola, doggy, girlfriend

Tyler, The Creator - DON'T TAP THE GLASS
65

this album wasn’t really necessary, but even though it’s not a concept album, tyler does a good job overall.
favorite tracks: ring ring ring, don’t you worry baby, i’ll take care of you

72->65

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2
87

the duo the world needs but doesn't deserve

Quadeca - Vanisher, Horizon Scraper
95

jaw-dropping experience, truly a no-skip album
fav tracks: godstained, thundrrr, the great bakunawa
