Joji listening stats:
Times fell asleep: 4
Interludes listened to: God knows atp
Real songs enjoyed: 5
Whether you want to believe that falling asleep to this album is a sign it fit it's ambient sound, you can believe that. But I'm super disappointed in this album cause I had this to be my album of the year (for the time being) but it literally provided no substance and every song was basically less than 2 minutes with features that provided nothing positive like how their own music ... read more
Idk how the hell this song is gonna fit into a goat playing makeshift basketball but I ain't watching allat but this is a great song
I can't lie it's gotten to a point where this could genuinely be an AI song with the prompt of a Zayn song but make it sound like teddy swims and we wouldn't know
He somehow doesn't miss again, and makes a really fucking good music video with it too. Genuinely can't enforce the sombr hate when he makes good music, just a shit live performer on songs that aren't his
These songs aren't even good at all, he made this whole hype a few years ago when he was saying he was planning on getting Morrissey and Stevie Nicks to create a whole different sounding album and where was that promise? Because most of these songs genuinely sounded the same as his other songs he's done
Also the features he announced like Gorillaz or Westside Gunn were literally just additional vocals and nothing else, it feels like these "features" if you want to call them ... read more
I think this albums is getting far too much hate to be honest, one of the major releases off the bat to kickstart the year, and it's a change in sound for Laroi and I like the change he has done.
I think the best songs by a standout are in the last 6 songs (apart from the interlude). Every single is a standout in that section where you can go from an emotional outpouring with
"Maybe I'm Wrong" which has very strong vocals under a piano piece. Or the R&B sounding songs ... read more
This made the album so much better than it already was holy peak
It's incredible at the fact that they went different and still stuck to their roots at the same time, and it's clear since all the members went solo that they came into this album with their own sounds and wanted to commit to those sounds all as a group with each individuals input as you get parts from every member from the group.
Also, I strongly recommend you listen to each individual CD song that every member made because those are some of the better songs from the album for a ... read more
Idk what this is but it ain't it, not for me let's say
This is a completely mixed bag. This album genuinely had everything I ask for in terms of features, Quadeca, Underscores, Frost Children, 8485, Jane Remover. But none of these features actually landed apart from Book of Daniel and Copycats.
This genuinely felt like such a poor show and it feels like they were told to die themselves down on these songs. Like the frost children feature didn't even sound like a frost children song it felt so off. Also that second Quadeca song - What You See ... read more
It's a whole mess these two songs, I mean i saw j-hope on this and was like "can they really mess this up?" Infact they can and they did, I loved LE SSERAFIM's last EP but like genuinely what are the lyrics on spaghetti? They make no sense and it just makes a bad song, also the chorus just doesn't even sound right anyways.
Listen I think there should have been more to this deluxe seeing as we had the estate sale deluxe, but beggars can't be choosers and just appreciate the art. When I heard Mother leak I was like omd this is a top tier Tyler song, and he added another verse to the leak too. Mother is such a good song and this review is only rating that.
Mother - 95
where did she find the minerals for this and what the fuck have I just listened to
This album is properly for the culture, British music always was and always WILL continue to rise. Dave truly performed some of his best pen game on this project and chose the perfect people to get involved with this project.
I'd just like to talk about his lyricism and storytelling on songs like Fairchild, My 27th Birthday or Selfish.
Quite simply Fairchild is a properly beautiful but saddening reality of a song about what happens to women within Britain and most especially London. As ... read more
super generic and it also looks so weird that Zayn's hairline isn't straight and there's just a little bump there
I feel like aldn is slowly progressing as an artist (I've been listening to him for 3 years) but I feel like he'll never truly be an artist i'll come back to for a whole album if every song he releases just refuses to be above 3 minutes or just pushing it that length because they just sound so unfinished.
The production on this album is very good and I'll give him the credit of that, songs like 'miss me when you're drunk' as much as I feel like the lyrics are ... read more
