I actually surprisingly liked this record, it's not that much of a highlight as a work overall, but there are some highlights here
(I'm reviewing the standard version of fearless as an album since I can't tolerate her older vocals)
Fearless to me was an album I knew due to some of its hits like love story and you belong with me, but never really knew how alive this country record sounded, how reckless and how energetic it is. Out of her first 3 albums as a country artist this one had the most poppy vibe and the most memorable songs.
Love Story is such a good song, specially for someone around her age, but I ... read more
reputation definitely is an overlooked album of hers imo, unlike lover this one is less flawed and unlike 1989 this one is less polished, but at the same time that's part of what I like about this record. It has so many good songs such as dress, call it what you want, delicate, getaway car, dancing with our hands tied, new years day...
this one is definitely okay-ish I mean it has some solid pop songs like cruel summer and some other fun songs or good ones like false good or afterglow. But there are also lots of new lows for her in this track list or tracks that could've just been kept out of the record.
I remember this being the first TS album I've ever listened to fully, I really do like this one since it's probably one her only albums or her only album that lowkey feels timeless, it has aged very well, and even in 2025 it doesn't feel outdated and it still hits the same even on a completely different cultural context, compared to where we all were back in 2020 with the pandemic.
August still hits hard even 5 years later
well... I mean it's not that bad, but re-listening to it it's a very messy album with lots of flaws, specially at the second half which is when it begins to get BORING
well update it grew on me
this album was so dull there's not so much I can remember from it since the whole time I was wishing it was over.
Should've had realized this was a chop the moment I saw that cover omg
HIT ME HARD AND SOFT is probably my least favourite release from Billie Eilish, like she's an amazing artist but I do believe this is album is basically good production and that's it, it's quite sad seeing the downgrade from the songwriting aspect, because it has some of her most boring and uninspiring songs lyrically speaking.
Happier than ever can be a bit messy at times but it truly is an improvement from her debut.
I remember really liking this album back in 2019, as far of 2025, there are some moments I think they didn't age that well but it's still solid.
