This album is such an incredible blend of 80s styles akin to the likes of The Cure and Depeche Mode, but with a distinctly dreamy and modern feel. I’m a little obsessed, and my one criticism is there isn’t quite enough variety, but I can forgive that when it all blends together so seamlessly.
NASTY. MAJESTY.
Also the Off the Hook live performances were a delightful surprise!
This album was pretty funny and jazzy, but a little sleepy at times.

This collection encapsulates most of the EPs that got me into Ugress and that have stuck with me for years. It's almost always a good time to be playing these songs.
Faves: Klavier Aparat, Sepia Rainbows, NBPD Theme
This is absolute garbage. I will defend it with my life.
It's awkward that they had to rush this soundtrack out with very little content when compared to the original soundtrack that spanned the first four seasons and then some. But I'm not complaining about all these high-quality versions of the Sadie Killer and the Suspects songs, not to mention That Distant Shore is absolutely gorgeous.
I loved Amanda Palmer when I was in high school, but I guess I just don't care about what she has to say anymore. Most of the songs overstayed their welcome with repetition and strange production choices. I didn't want to hear her go back and forth from sob-whispering to SCREAMING ACROSS THE ROOM.
Blaqk Audio is one of my favorite acts of all time, so I understandably had pretty high expectations for this album. Even so, it still surpassed what I expected and blew me away. It's the perfect blend of 80s-inspired darkwave and modern EBM, with Davey's lyrics painting a dark but beautiful picture while Jade sets the scene perfectly with his beats and synths.
Enemies Forever was the standout track for me. My jaw kept dropping every time that chorus hit. Other top tracks for me are Infinite ... read more
80s shoegaze is just not for me, I guess. The feedback was honestly unbearable. It's a shame cause I think I could hear something I liked under all the fuzz.
Trash Bat is the star of this album, an incredibly fun 2 minute burst of energy. "What's a Trash Bat? Who cares!"
I LOVE some of the new sounds they got on the title track. The violins, the bongos, the trip-hop inspired beat, it just all came together on this track to be fresh and interesting. I love when AFI experiment and it goes well for them.
The other three tracks are pretty good. I do love the aesthetic of Break Angels, and Get Dark sure was catchy until Trash Bat came ... read more
This is such a fun listen! The chaotic horns in Do It All The Time are so good.
I really wish I understood this album, but it just feels so...formless. I Am You was pretty good.
When I read that Ghost's frontman had a pop punk project, I was skeptical of its quality (even as a fan of pop punk). This was such a fresh record though, I should have never doubted Tobias!
This little 30 minute rock opera from this nerdy rock band has managed to make me cry more than any other album. I'll admit its story is kinda cheesy, but Andrew Volpe performs it in a way that makes it feel so genuine and deeply emotional even in its moments of fighting a dragon because The Traveller created an alternate apocalyptic reality when his time machine broke. You have to have an open mind going into it of course, but it's worth it.
