The key to understanding the greatness of this album is this one line, Music is more than just music. That is the exact perfect line to describe this album. While not as good as Dawn FM, this album delivers a great story and experience of The Weeknd realizing the girl he loves doesn’t love him so he cuts her off. Very sad and leads perfectly into Dawn FM with The Weeknd dying and going to purgatory.
I feel that this album is Tyler’s strongest as every track provides a fresh new addition to the story and the album. There are one or two meh tracks but that is about it. Every other song is really good and is definitely playlist worthy. Tyler refuses to make bad albums these days as he continues to prove he’s one of the best rappers this past decade.
Absolutely love this album. Definitely Tyler’s strongest album to date with little to no weak verses or beats. While there were a few iffy songs on Flower Boy, there are at most one bad song on this album. Each song provides a new fresh experience. One of my favorite albums I’ve heard this month and I’m glad that it is getting the attention it deserves.
Overall a very solid album from Tyler on his 4th album. The album is headlined by songs like Boredom, 911/Mr Lonely, and See You Again. Feels very different than Tyler’s first few albums as most of the beats and lyrics are better and more genuine. Very good album that I highly recommend.
