I keep going back to this album more than any other released this year. I admit, it didn't click at first, but now I definitely understand it.
Soul album that needed just a bit more soul to work. I understand it's Pop soul but c'mon he has the voice for it let him be soulful
Raw, unfiltered rap that unfortunately feels dated on arrival
If you follow me on AOTY, I really recommend you guys this album. An Ode to a Life Not Lived is the first album by Minnesota based band Sassafras, a band I've been close to for a few years now. This new album shows a more developed and mature sound compared to the singles the band released in the past, and I am loving every minute of it. It's a well composed, well produced alternative rock album that anyone should give a listen to.
I don't think it's disrespectful to continue LP with a new vocalist. They waited years to start again. And admit it, we all missed them.
as Mori Calliope continues to artistically improve, the worst part of her music, her attitude, remains an ever-present issue dragging her music down.
unrelated but how the hell did she get lotus juice on here
there's an interlude on this album that has a phonk beat, and i got excited and waiting for Denzel to rap on a phonk beat, it would be interesting and unique. but that never comes. that sort of encapsulates this album as a whole. there's a lot of potential here, but instead of doing something new, it settles into a fairly boring sound.
Kyrie and Luka is better than a lot of the songs on the album, like my shit is one of the worst
