got my cd early woo! this is such a beautiful album, i love the dreamlike production and somber, poetic lyricism. speaks to me personally which gives it an edge, hell let’s all get more biased. just love devonté’s music so much. standouts: thinking clean, the train (king’s cross), countryside, somewhere in between
wish this stuck more to the lush synths promised in the opening track, but the album picked itself back up at the end with powerful lyrics and performance. standouts: live forever, trouble, indio, fading beauty
i don’t know why this is rated so low by critics, it is interesting with some solid songs!! standouts: love voodoo, ordinary world, to whom it may concern, shelter
in shock at being the minority here but this is an album for the ages. in awe of how beautiful and sweeping this is when i went in thinking “oh this is the one with friday i’m in love.” just firing on all cylinders. standouts (mind every song is great): open, to wish impossible things, friday i’m in love, doing the unstuck, cut, apart
her best release for sure, especially in the diversity of instrumentals and soaring vocals. only qualm is some of the lyrics are not my style (on the nose, modern). standouts: sabotage, too little too late, forget-me-not
this kind of made me queasy but holy shit what an album. standouts: angels of porn ii, alligator blood, executioner
this was a miss for me, felt all style no substance unfortunately. i respect the instrumental effort and it isn’t a poor album at all but just… lacking
this rocks and is punchy and still relevant. spoke to me personally and made me do a jig too. standouts: north american scum, all my friends, new york i love you but you’re bringing me down
i’m not great at talking about music but this album journeys well between genres and moods, the instrumentals and dreaminess floating together effortlessly. it’s missing a certain edge but this had me nodding in approval. standouts: echo, real life, blur, vicious sensitive robot, no one noticed
heavily carried by ‘love my way’ but a step up from their debut. standouts: love my way, president gas, yes i do (merry-go-round)
