Taylor Swift - Fearless (Taylor's Version)
60

I don’t know if it’s because the sound in this album is more developed and full than the last one (I would need to listen to them back to back to find the differences), or if it just grew on me after a second listen, but I enjoyed this more than the original Fearless. It has six new songs made from the same time period, and I enjoyed two of them, also making this rendition of the album slightly better. My favorites were: Fearless, Fifteen, Love Story, You Belong With Me, ... read more

Taylor Swift - evermore

The album evermore has a very similar sound to folklore but is distinct in its own way. Songs like long story short, marjorie, and closure have some cool electronic instrumentals not found in folklore. I like this album slightly better because of that, and because I think it has more songs that deliver. My favorites were: willow, champagne problems, gold rush, tolerate it, no body, no crime, long story short, marjorie, closure, evermore, and right where you left me.

Taylor Swift - folklore

After having a 5ish year span of releasing pop music, folklore takes a dramatic turn into a more alternative folk genre. This album is very soft and has a lot of depth to it, but it gets slightly repetitive for me. My favorites of this album were: the last great american dynasty, exile, my tears ricochet, august, illicit affairs, mad woman, betty, and the lakes. This is and evermore were the only two albums I had already heard prior to going on this listening spree.

Taylor Swift - Lover

Lover is much more of a light-hearted pop in comparison to reputation, which has a much more sinister sound. I think it would again be easier to list the songs that weren’t my favorites: The Archer, Death By A Thousand Cuts, False God, and Daylight. This album is exploding with color and vibrancy and has a ton of radio hits, as well as songs that deliver where you don’t think they would.

Taylor Swift - reputation

One of the best of her albums in my opinion. Almost every single song on the album delivers very strongly in her twisted pop sound. I think it would be easier to list the songs that didn’t make my favorites in this album: Gorgeous, Getaway Car, and Call It What You Want. Again, these songs aren’t bad, they are solid songs. However, they pale in comparison to the bangers of the rest of this album.

Taylor Swift - 1989

Her first official pop album has a ton of radio hits like Shake It Off and Blank Space. My favorites were: Welcome To New York, Blank Space, Style, Shake It Off, Bad Blood, Wildest Dreams, I Know Places, Wonderland, and New Romantics. Out of my favorites, there was only one I hadn’t heard before which I think is a testament to how popular this album was and still is.

Taylor Swift - Red
65

This is the first album where we start to hear the more poppy version of Taylor Swift appear in songs like I Knew You Were Trouble and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. My favorites of this album were: State of Grace, Red, I Knew You Were Trouble, All Too Well, 22, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, and The Last Time. It is all around a very solid album.

Taylor Swift - Speak Now

I don’t know if I’m just growing more fond of her country sound or she just has better songs but I liked a handful of songs from this album. My favorites were: The Story of Us, Never Grow Up, Enchanted, Better Than Revenge, Innocent, and Haunted. The entire album as a whole is much more enjoyable to listen to.

Again, take this with a grain of salt as I don’t like country, but this album had a more developed sound compared to the self-titled album. It had recognizable hits such as Love Story and You Belong With Me. To me, the rest of the album felt like filler (other than Fifteen), but I’m placing it above the self-titled for its more developed, streamlined sound.

Not a huge country person, so this album felt pretty long and uninteresting for the most part. There were some decent songs in there, the three that stood out to me were Picture to Burn, I’m Only Me When I’m With You, and Invisible. The rest of the album is full of mostly generic country songs which I’m sure people could appreciate, however, I found it boring.

twenty one pilots - Trench

The best TOP album to date, and my favorite album of all time. This is one of the very few albums in my opinion that is pieced seamlessly into one cohesive story, and is able to flow as such. I enjoy every song on the album. It tackles such a wide variety of topics, from the glorification of suicide by the media, to the pressure to perform by fans and critics. The production on this album is next level, as made possible by Paul Meany.
