Had to take a 30 minute breather after Black Pastures but I gotta say…
This was an excellent drone record, I was very immersed from start to finish and the texture of the music was very rich.
I just wish some of the disc transitions were better, but they were fine for what they were.

Been lookin’ forward to listening to this and I’m very pleased with what I heard!
Reminds me a lot of Spiderland but this LP is a lot more reverberated and gothic-rock inspired. I also really enjoyed the lyrical content of this LP.
Gonna be listening to more of Unwound’s stuff in the future for sure.

It's sad because I see a lot of potential, but it's just too noisy, and undercooked/overcooked for my personal tastes.

I absolutely adore how raw this is. The utter SOUND of this project is piercing to the core.
Additionally, the album came out in 1983, hella innovative for its era and the no-wave scene. This album echoes the anti-commercial sentiment of the no-wave scene, while the instrumentation hooks hypnotically, parroting misanthropic, id-fueled statements into your ears while heavy bass-lines and brutal drums wail in your ear.
