So, okay. The last time I ACTUALLY listened to BTS was 2018, and that was before they became what they are now. Now, I obviously don't know what to expect, but at the same time I am expecting what their reputation precedes them, and what I used to know about them. Anddd, the people were right.
I actually like the production on some of the songs, what I am having problems with are the vocals and lyrics. I know no K-pop song is perfect if there's no lyric that doesn't make sense, ... read more
I just want to say how real the album name is. This is indeed something beautiful.
I LOVE IT! I don't really know her so imagine my surprise listening to this and LOVING it!
Olivia has a way of making songs that really resonate with everyone, yes, everyone. Her songs speak of problems people go through; have been through. And I think that's really powerful.
I like it, although that's not really a surprise. I'm simple. Anyway, there's plenty to like from this EP. Sure, it sounds like other songs, both K-pop and not.
I would've loved this *more" if the whole thing sounded like "GO!" and "FaSHioN". But those things aside, the production and vibes are there. And I am really digging it.
I was informed of this band's existence by "A Minecraft Movie". Particularly the opening track 'Time to Pretend'. The song quickly went viral on TikTok, couple that with the movie and the McDonalds collaboration that Minecraft had. It was everywhere. Some time after, it then became *the song* to describe what the late 2000s, early 2010s felt like. And I agree...
To get to the point, I like the album. I like it's association with my favorite game (though some ... read more
ART + POP = ARTPOP!!!
I wasn't aware before of the 'scandal' that this album had; the problems of both the album and Gaga at the time. Which in turn really affected the publics perception of the album, which was really unfortunate because this album is amazing. Maybe you can call it dated or 'repetitive', but every song is an explosion of energy and production.
Still sounds amazing. I might even argue that this sounds better than the newer version.
I felt so superior hearing this for the first time back in 2017. That's just how gay I am.
I don't care much for intros, interludes, outros, and the like; just anything that breaks from the momentum of listening to albums. So this album having 3 definitely affected my final rating.
However, apart from the interludes, this album is amazing! Not so much so as a 'pop bible', but it holds it's own and it's amazing.
It was raining when I first listened to this back in 2020. Let me tell you, that was an experience.
I still love the original, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate this version. Like the opinion of many others, there are some changes from the original that feel like strange decisions. But the most unacceptable of those decisions was changing 1989 from a city-theme to a beach-theme.
Anyway, it still feels explosive as the original, and the new vault songs add more depth and sound to the original.
