If I am being ONE HUNDRED PERCENT honest, I find most Rage music to be insufferable. I admire the artistry and insane energy most artists put into their songs, but it's usually the lyrics and the cadences that put me off. As a matter of fact, that issue does bleed into this record. It's not an exactly bad trait, just not my thing.

Another album suggested by a girl I like (OooOooOooO)!
I forgot to rate this one a lil bit ago, and I honestly dont have a whole lote to say about this other than it being pretty gooooooood. Ive been meaning to check em out for a while and I'm glad I had an excuse to.
...Uhhhhh I ran outta things to say. BRING THE NAKED PA OUT HERE.

Shoutout to @colten for starting me off on my journey to getting into black metal!!
This is actually only the second black metal album I've heard from front to back, the first being Deafheaven's "Sunbather" (which I'll be reviewing sometime soon). I was told that metal subgenres like Blackgaze and Post-Metal are good starting points into the world of black metal. Looks my dawg knows PRECISELY what he's talking about because I enjoyed this a whole lot more than I ... read more
ANIMAL COLLECTIVE DEEP DIVE #38 (SOLO PANDA BEAR): SINISTER GRIFT
THIS IS TECHNICALLY THE FINALE!!!! Obviously, I still have to complete solo EPs and live/visual albums and whatnot, but THIS marks the end to all mainline AnCo releases (for now) YAY!!!
As for Sinister Grift itself, this is totally in the top 2 most well-made Panda solo records (take a wild guess what's number 1), and I LOVE the pickup of energy in certain moments of this project. The small dub tweak in the sound really ... read more
Say, Tove Lo, I heard you like ‘em young...
Seriously, I know she doesn’t directly say anything about PEDOPHILIA on track 3 because it's vague and meant with good intentions, but like dawg...I would NEVER trust a person with “Like Em Young” on a playlist. Anyway...
I was not expecting this album to be as good as it is, nor to be a well-structured story. Every song from “The Sex” interlude to “Not On Drugs” represents the beginning and ... read more
ANIMAL COLLECTIVE DEEP DIVE #37 (SOLO PANDA BEAR): RESET
I had the biggest, STUPIDEST smile on my face the whole time lol.
Despite Panda and Sonic Boom coming from completely different eras of neo-psychedelic music, I don't think there could've been a better fit for this kind of album than these two. Peter Kember (a.k.a Sonic Boom) was one of the BIGGEST innovators of the neo-psychedelia sound back when he was part of the music group "Spacemen 3" back in the 80s. A lot of ... read more
TS KINDA GAS 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
The idea of a modern rap supergroup centered in MY STATE, heavily influenced by Three 6 Mafia sounds like a damn dream come true. Though how this debut sounds, there's definitely room to grow.
Like most hip-hop groups (and supergroups in general), the chemistry between artists is something that develops with time. You can very much get a "lightning in a bottle" type of thing with a group like Wu-Tang coming out of the gate with a magnum ... read more
Sounds like LCD Soundsystem....occasionally.
This is a very strange case. I'm lowkey a sucker for pop fun like this, and I like a majority of the tracks on here. But this is an album I can never see myself revisiting.
It's dance-pop that I can recognize is a lot more watered down and less dynamic than others that I've heard (probably for the sake of radio play), yet I still like it, but I also find it kind of boring??? Don't get me wrong, I find a decent chunk of these ... read more
THANKS FOR 200 FOLLOWERS YUH YUH!!!
The most important album I've heard during my wheelchair days.
For this milestone, I wanted to cover another album that was with me during another low point in my life and that I hold near and dear to my heart. This is like the Theodore Roosevelt of my personal music Mount Rushmore.
Before I even remotely listened to music as often as I do now and before I knew about music critic stuff, about 2017 maybe, I would see this cover EVERYWHERE. Shirts, ... read more

Panda nooooooooo... stop talking about "A slap on a jelly ass" :(
I always applaud AnCo and its members when they do some of their experimental BS, whether it falls within my taste or not. Hell, I'm one of the rare "Danse Manatee" album defenders (to a certain extent). But this might be my least favorite AnCo project I've heard so far, other than Avey's "Pullhair Rubeye" album...

ANIMAL COLLECTIVE DEEP DIVE #35 (SOLO PANDA BEAR): PANDA BEAR MEETS THE GRIM REAPER
Such a funny title lol
This project fixes most of the issues I had with the previous "Tomboy" album. MOST, keyword MOST of the tracks are much more distinct from one another and I can see myself playing songs like "Mr. Noah" and "Tropic of Cancer" as I think both are among the best AnCo-related songs in their discography.
Unfortunately, this album should NOT be damn near an HOUR ... read more

Don't tell the AnCo fans I gave this a 65...
This is definitely not a bad album in the slightest; it's very well layered and fits the hypnotic nature of Panda's voice, which is a huge reason why so many fans see this as an underrated gem. To be fair, I also think there are a few great songs in here.
BUT. The thing that reaaaally brings it down for me is how so many songs in between the great ones mush together in the ... read more
Shoutout to @nikls (my first ever follower on here) for the recommendation!!
I'm glad I revisited this album, being one of the first I've ever listened to back in ol' '22. At that time, I still had zero cultural awareness in all media, ESPECIALLY music, and this genuinely blew my mind more than anything else that was in the mainstream at the time. Mind you, I would still damn near exclusively discover music through iHeart Radio pop stations and Kidz Bop covers (ewwww).

I've always respected Mitski's distinct and honestly very impactful style, both in terms of emotion and influence on the Indie sound. The better tracks on this record showcase all of those fantastic elements we all love so much from her.
My only major complaint is that certain songs blend in too much with the tracks surrounding them, which makes me check out of the album. It doesn't grab my attention as much as her album "Be the ... read more
ANIMAL COLLECTIVE DEEP DIVE #33 (SOLO PANDA BEAR): PERSON PITCH
The 80-score review I gave this album on my last account did not do this album ANY justice in the SLIGHTEST.
A huge aspect I've failed to mention until now is AnCo's INSANE sampling skills. They can twist so many bits and pieces from other songs into their own musical expression that you really can't tell there are samples at ALL in a given track (until you check WhoSampled.com or something). It's so unique in ... read more
ANIMAL COLLECTIVE DEEP DIVE #32 (SOLO PANDA BEAR): YOUNG PRAYER
I realized how insanely contradictory my last review was, so I'm doing a quick redo 😭
This record as an experience feels so much like an alternate (and also better) version of "Campfire Songs" to me. They both use that relaxing Ambient-Folk sound and the very freeing improvisation style of many of the songs on both records. "Young Prayer" utilizes more produced ambience than the natural environment ... read more
This is THE BEST Gorillaz album since PLASTIC BEACH.
I wouldn't say that the band "disappointed" me for the past handful of releases, but I didn't think they would reach "Plastic Beach" and "Demon Days" level of album quality for a good while (which I mean, there is a 16-year difference, so I guess I was kind of right). I went into this completely blind, listening to zero singles to amp my experience, and dawg I KNEW THEY STILL GOT IT!!

Scottish, Welsh, and English experimental medieval rock music with elements of "bard-rap"?? WITH a 20-minute song sprinkled in there??? Hen Ogledd brings such a bizarrely unique sound in a way I thought I wouldn't like it as much as I did. But I probably won't revisit the songs outside of "Clear pools" and "Scales will fall". I might check out more of their stuff! Very exciting band!!

Converge is one of the bands that made me truly like the metal genre. I kid you NOT i was an avid metal HATER back in the day, and bands like Converge helped me realize metal isn't just "demonic slop" or whatever people would tell me.
As for the album itself, it's not my favorite record by them, but I'd still say this is an absolutely fantastic album. I've always appreciated the pacing and how tight-knit all the songs are on Converge projects, which REALLY shines ... read more
