Avenged Sevenfold - Life Is But a Dream...

(I wrote the whole review apart in a document after listening to this early today, it's just coincidence that hours later Fantano would drop a Not Good episode of this album)
Sorry but no.
No words in how baffled I am because this album. This is a visceral experience in the worst way possible. I'm not a fan and i didn't really hated their previous stuff but it's really like the worst combination of what would I call butt metal, avant metal, soundplay electronics and i don't even know what more ... read more

What is this

I don't know how to describe this album is something that exists and has sounds and vocals, maybe mixing I don't think so. It feels like something of an alternate reality, some audiobook thing but is surprisingly good? I don't know if call it good but generates something beautiful and uncomfortable at the same time. It's like finding an strange youtube video with almost no views, it's the feeling of weirdness but far removed from being disgusting but jarring at how weird and ... read more

In my humble opinion, I think this is more like the answer to internet horror by xiu xiu than Girl With Basket Of Fruit. And I went into it more like a horror tense experience and I think this is terrifying more because this feels like a nightmare, maybe it trades for coherent structure but I think that some of the sounds are truly tense inducing for example the start of the song Tarsier Tarsier Tarsier Tarsier that I don't know but I imagine like a death scene or somewhat of a screamer ... read more

Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders & The London Symphony Orchestra - Promises

This is like a match in heaven for minimalism and spirit jazz. I have this LP on vinyl and it's one of my favorites in my collection because it feels more like two songs or two parts each one with its movements, one with more soloing from Pharoah Sanders (R.I.P.) and the other more guided with the electronics and ambient sound from Floating Points before with an explosion of orchestral sound. Maybe my least favorite part is the outro that feels like an epilogue and maybe closes the LP with a ... read more

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven!

For context, I only listen to this album 90 minutes before I finish my workday and everytime it gets me in a deep euphoric mood when I listen to it. There's no album that can replicate a sensation like this. I don't think this is like ambitious in a way that can be a little bit overdone, the sound is uniquely beautiful, euphoric and sometimes depressing and there's like a human touch into everything even the drones. The first time I listen to it maybe I didn't appreciate the drones and other ... read more

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion

This album is a great example of going more accessible and also being creative. An accurate but description of this is colorful, vivid and flowing with ideas that i think the sound pallette helps to transmit. The only problems that i have are some song that i don't find as interesting as the opener or even the opener but from front to back the quality of the sound is impressive. My fav tracks are: In The Flowers, My Girls, Also Frightened, Summertime Clothes, Bluish, Guys Eyes, Taste and ... read more
