James Ferraro - Far Side Virtual

this doesn't creeps me out. after listening to this I just want to play good old Sims. idk but the sound sometimes gives me a feel of comfort and maybe nostalgia(?), is a weird feeling and a weird album.

Traxman - Da Mind of Traxman

I liked it? I guess? Idk but I find this LP interesting and sometimes groove forward with its intricate drum patterns and chopped up samples, and sometimes sounding a little bit psychodelic. The production it's a little thin for a 1 hour instrumental album but the vibes are there and the groove is there. Another thing I find interesting is that besides of the wild banger-like tracks, there are pretty chill moments where the sound becomes almost hypnotic and beautiful(?). Even though there are ... read more

I have never given a fair listen to this album.
Always seeing it on year-end/decade-end lists as one of the best albums on those lists. Now I get why, what a wonderful listening experience and encompasses almost every mood that art pop and chamber pop could give. I don't like to say that some albums from recent years are "modern classics" or "new classics" but for this album I would make the exception because I don't think of any other art pop albums from the 2010's that are ... read more

The Congos - Heart of the Congos

Not only one of the best produced reggae albums from that era because how hypnotic the whole sound of the record is, but it has to be said that the lyrics throughout hits hard in a emotional way because it reads like a tragedy and bad things happening to others, really depressing stuff and this album feels more like a scream of help from people so far away and the way they fight to survive is through the music as a message of rebellion against war, poverty and racism. No other word can describe ... read more

I wasn't expecting to like this LP this much, it's like one wild but quick party night.

The only thing I don't like about this album is maybe some tracks that sounds a little too corny or annoying, like Do Your Thing. But this album in its best is so fun to listen to, like WHERE'S YOUR HEAD AAAT. THAT SONG I FORGOTTEN BUT THAT VOCAL LINE WAS ALWAYS IN MY MIND SINCE THE FIRST TIME I LISTENED TO IT BACK IN THE 2000'S, amazing. I could be a little bit biased about that song because nostalgia, BUT ... read more

Jane Remover - Census Designated

Amazing. Stunning stuff.

I really enjoyed this for the most part, I get if sounds too noisy and unconventional but I think this is a more refined version of her last LP and touching, meanwhile with the vocals and melodies has almost like a RnB quality I really like. Maybe there are some tracks that aren't as interesting as others maybe because aren't that memorable but overall I really enjoyed the sound, the performances and no always the mixing but being sometimes as chaotic as it's I get why ... read more

The Dillinger Escape Plan - Calculating Infinity

So close to be perfect.

This for me it's an example of almost perfection because the only think I don't find interesting it's the final minutes of silence and a confusing piece of audio closing this LP, but the other 32 minutes of this thing it's one of the hardest mathematical brain explosion metalcore I ever heard. The screams aren't as brazing as Jane Doe by Converge but still makes me wanna destroy everything while listening at these tracks. One of the best metal albums from the 90's and ... read more

his life is like a videogame, trying hard to beat the stage, all while he still collecting coins

ok but fr, this is near unlistenable or definitely unlistenable, maybe I laughed sometimes because how bad it gets but in reality you laugh or cry. big applause for this manchild who it's straight up the definition of problematic pop punk frontman, ticks all the boxes on how to be a horrible insufferable narcissistic piece of shit.

fuck this
I know some people who don't enjoy A Crow Looked At Me and I understand their reasons but this is in another level. You don't have to like or appreciate highly rated albums it isn't an obligation, but this is an exercise on how to be the worst piece of shit in time record. Fucking sad that people like this that surely has some "nihilistic" view of the world by being a giant scumbag exist

Röyksopp - Junior

Tbh I didn't expect to enjoy some of the tracks as much as Vision One. That song I already knew it from the LittleBigPlanet 2 OST and what a bop, I always liked that slippery but almost glitchy bass and the accompaniment of the synths in the background gave me a feeling like the coldness from a IDM song but with a groove of a Trip Hop track. And for the rest of tracks i have to say the great majority are decent electropop songs with a "futuristic" twist or maybe some of my favorite ... read more

Ladytron - Light & Magic
92

One of the most underrated electropop releases of the 2000's.

Personally I prefer this LP over Witching Hour because I think has better pop oriented structures while being like a obscure dance release. Also I think this opened the inspiration for the actual or more known style of electroclash, obscure beats but with a pop edge not so attached to techno.

Maybe the shortest description of this it's "the defining goth e-girl dance album". Still there are some tracks I didn't enjoy ... read more

Drake - For All The Dogs

well

this wasn't a snoozefest my god it's bad, or at least the second half of this LP. The first half has maybe some decent tracks and also that track with yeat (it's more a yeat song with a drake feature) that I legitimately enjoyed. THE REST IS A MESS. Like, I wished was just wallpaper music but it's really horrible for the most part of this record, it's one of the worst RnB performances I heard in a long time and I get why people could like the Take Care era of drake but in this case it's ... read more

AJJ - Knife Man

One of my favorite folk punk albums ever.

The power this album has to give me the need to throw everything I hate in my day to day straight to the trash while the anxiety and fear of what anyone else think about me it's an specific mood after listening to this. I love almost every second of it in a emotionally powerful way, I couldn't explain better than I did recently. The last two tracks represent my chronic anxiety and break me into tears.

Maybe what I don't like are some songs that sound ... read more

Armand Hammer - We Buy Diabetic Test Strips

Their best project since Paraffin.

I think there are so few albums that are this level of abstract, this is more like ambient hip hop but goes hard and cold as a Tim Hecker LP and also being glitchy and somewhat "vaporwavy" as a death's dynamic shroud album on the production front of this LP. Meanwhile what billy and ELUCID bring on the table are some of the most abstract and I would say avant garde hip hop I heard in a long time, while managing to express some chilling emotions but ... read more

Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra - The "Pretty Little Lightning Paw" EP

This is UNDERRATED AF.

I mean, a lot of GY!BE fans when listening to their other side projects I don't see many of them mentioning this little EP as one of their best. In comparison to their whole discography, this is the most direct but also one of the most elevating experiences on the GY!BE lore.

Edit: 90 ---› 95

Ok maybe this is the best side project from the GY!BE lore. The mixing doesn't help because yes it's chaotic and not refined unlike most of their best projects and LPs, ... read more

imo for listening to a duo like Natural Snow Buildings you have to prepare yourself mentally for enduring any of their albums, not because they are bad but I would compare listening to this duo like the experience of drinking good old wine, preparing yourself to a unique form of art that not everyone would enjoy and for good reasons because any person that didn't listen to any drone music would not enjoy this album at all, the same as someone drinking old wine but never had a glass of wine ... read more

well, at least the singles carries the album.

I mean, yes there are some interesting deep cuts here like Stride Rite and Magicians From Baltimore, but outside of the singles I think this album lacks on consistency and therefore feels a little bit long-winded. I don't think there's any bad or horrible songs on here, but certainly empty in various spots like on the closer or Genie's Open.

I get if people liked this album and rates it highly but for me it's a disappointing LP because the ... read more
