A hair-raising eight years after the seminal Melody AM and some four since its successor, The Understanding, Röyksopp have deemed us worthy to enter their world once more. On this electrifying evidence, the wait was more than worth it.

Röyksopp's third album finds them synthesizing the highs and lows from their previous records to strike a knowing middle ground. Robyn and Lykke Li guest.

No Ripcord
If you are a well-versed fan of electronica and you know what you like, then this album might not be for you. By aiming more toward the middle and still maintaining their core aesthetic, Röyksopp has created an album for anyone, not just for tweakers.

Some cool tracks thanks to catchy melodies and some neat production choices. "Vision One" is definitely the standout in these regards. But it ultimately feels a bit basic both in styles and structure.

The first three songs are so good it conviced me the rest of the album would be too, but it's just ok.

This album just gets better and better the more I listen to it. Literal ear candy in which almost every song is sweet, glistening and hooks you deep, while acting as a near perfect fulcrum point between Röyskopp's downtempo origins and their future electro-pop sound. I'd recommend starting here if you want to get into their music.

I guess the only way to describe this album is "what if Daft Punk turned Discovery into a more pop-focused direction and were Norwegian" It's energetic, vibrant, playful, pretty much anything ibeant from a pop tune. There's also some trip-hop elements on here that I fuck with too, Röyksopp Forever being a highlight. No wonder everyone's telling me to check them out. Oh yeah, Robyn's on here too, she's great as always.

This album is a slightly better version of The Understanding. After releasing the amazing Melody A.M., Röyksopp moved into more of an electro pop sound on their second album, and although it is very rough around the edges, I enjoy that release. But on this album, I can finally see the vision start to come together. They continue the sound of the second album but improve on the production and structure of the songs. Overall, this album ends up being more consistent and calibrated.
