I find it remarkable that this so-called supergroup's first album has almost no experimental backbone nor any interest to disintinguish themselves from their principal songwriters' body of work. And what's even more crazy is that despite this album already being incredibly disconnected, it all sounds so uniform and banal and lacking in... anything remotely memorable?

You would think a supergroup consisting of the top musicians of Canadian rock of the early aughts would produce something at least more tuneful than this.
I sort of tuned out on Fontaines D.C. after the release of their third album two years ago not because of a lack of quality on their output, more so that the dreary, oppressive atmosphere along with Grian Chatten's talk singing that distinctly characterized the band up to this point is sort of hard to crave a re-listen to. I actually prefer when Porter was making EDM tripe than whatever this garbage he's making now.
It feels like for every song I could very well be in its wavelength, but then Glass Beach will proceed to do something that irks me so much that it derails everything. Strong contender for the most exhausting album I'll have to listen to this year unless Drake decides to rear his ugly head again.
