Finally, I 100%d the CSH discography without including the live recordings.
Maybe this project isn't the pinnacle of humor but I really find it witty and endearing with their attitude so casual "idgaf" tone. I feel it is almost punk like something from the slits or le tigre but with production that tbh it reminds me of 1000 Gecs, not hyperpop but so unrefined and noisy but poppy and catchy with songs like A & Arnold. This is genuinely a personal gem for me, what I needed at the moment not only in terms of lo-fi indietronica but also bitpop and twee ... read more
Ok seeing this as a spoken word project more than another hip hop/emo rap album really makes more sense, is like listening to someone losing it because they're so insecure and maybe this isn't for everyone. It's a 37 minute long rant about living like shit. And yeah the rest of the hobo johnson music sounds like the worst music ever but this is fragile but well put together. I feel bad for him because this is truly a one album wonder.
I've discovered Sonic Dragolgo's music almost 3 years ago but never dug further than the first record and My Sweet Honey Bunny, but this is easily my favorite LP of the project. It's unique within its simplicity in some tracks like the selftitled, emergency code and maybe deep angel, but I feel like the production and sound design is way more clearer than past records wich it gives more punch and a quality almost psychodelic in tracks like Guitar, Action or Sister. Besides all ... read more
Ladies, gentleman and enbies, please give a round of tomatoes for this masterclass in how to make the shittiest music ever made. This ain't even coworker music, is unemployed music, only people with enough time of the day would listen to this
I WANT TO DISREGARD AND DISRESPECT MY OLD SELF BECAUSE SHE HAD NO TASTE WHEN THIS CAME OUT.
FROM A 72 TO 84 (Probably higher but because I think the middle still doesn't hit enough as the rest)
This album became a 180 opinion changed to me because now I get how amazing the production the sound and oh my god the choruses, like this is the maximalist Porter Robinson record but at the time I didn't get it enough. One of the most endearing Porter Robinson LPs, it's like a tribute ... read more
I think this is the real tribute to Groggs. The last Injury Reserve record still is a masterpiece, but it doesn't have the sense of dread, looseness and abstraction that this By Storm debut has. This is what grieving sounds like, it isn't as raw as some other lps but I read it as the whole process of grief from negation and finally acceptance.
this is my first exposure to thall and to be honest I'm not the biggest fan because it sounds a lot like djent.
still the records is pretty cool and a good mixture of those djenty guitars with deathmetal-like vocals and prog metal structure and composition, still it isn't the heaviest thing I've heard done this year but fair enough is a highlight for the present metal lore.
What a trip in just 6 minutes. For a moment I thought it might get into some brazil funk but it's seamless the process from one groove to another, amazing composition and sound design. Nothing wrong to say about only that it wears its inspirations clearly, I hear a little bit of Arca and Sophie but with the mood of death's dynamic shroud and YAYAYI
finally my coworker album of the year dropped 🗣️🗣️🗣️
(are they the new Imagine Dragons?)
the ultimate furry rock opera
