OK HOLD UP.
This is some of the most amazing noise music in a long time, and better than The Origin Of My Depression imo. Still she has that dramatic approach to noise and industrial music with those touches of dark ambience and all the gloom that surrounds the overall chaotic noise of her records. But in this batch of songs she seems to experiment with more rock/metal instrumentation and those things gives the album a more cathartic feeling besides the overall darkwave gloom droning through ... read more
this is LuLu for trap and rage fans.
Absolutely PUNK AF, this is insane and I didn't expect a No Wave record like this to get so much attention and I get this isn't for everyone but I enjoyed so much
the Italian lemon twinks have done it again
Beatlemania? More like Twigmania.
cómo que este album salió en el mismo día que nací, ya lo escucho y hago una crítica al respecto
I don't get why Richard Dawson fans underrate this LP, it's actually one of the best folk albums of the 2010's with the trademark Dawson style of art folk and storytelling so sharped and forward thinking about the experience of living in constant anxiety in this modern world and other sociological problems and points of view the writing on this record offers. Also the sound is sometimes hypnotic and kind of a lull but serves as the base for the lyrics most of the times.
Great production job on this LP, flavourful and moody. Nia Archives has an infectious charisma and good vibes on the majority of the tracklist. Another good album added to this trend of Jungle Drum N Bass RnB.
my brain rotted with only listening to Strut, I don't need to hear the rest of the LP
i want to fucking cry
Edit: ok I'm better now, this is a masterpiece. I wasn't on the hype train when the singles released, but now I'm on the cry train my fucking god what a emotional punch this LP gave me.
Ok first the downsides, it's so abrasive I have to recalibrate my ears because some songs sound louder or quieter than others in this LP. Yeah, the mixing is chaotic and I don't mind that in a noise rock album (obviously) but sometimes doesn't work all that well or it's just annoying like the first track "Are You Waiting?". Another thing I didn't like enough was maybe the aesthetics in some songs like DEVIL NOBODY because sounded a little corny with the rap verse in the middle even if ... read more
BRUH THIS ALBUM GOT THE SKULLCANDY CRUSHERS TREATMENT 🔥🔥🔥
Ok fr this is his best project, and maybe it's because Yeat relies heavily on what he is best at focusing more on his strengths with those beats almost with a touch of body music, adds to his overall sound and aesthetics a really futuristic look for trap music. Really surprised with the result here.
Another album wrongly decimated by Pitchfork. Emerge is one of the best synthpop singles of the 2000's and maybe the rest isn't as good as that but the LP contains solid tunes and deep cuts that are decent enough to hold the vibes of the 80's romantic synthpop revival from the 2000's and combining it with trendy (for that era) styles of electro music.
Bonus commentary: I don't usually comment on the cover art from the records but this is surely one of the worst covers from an album that I ... read more
... read more
would be better if ye just retires on music and makes a right-wing shitass podcast, wouldn't he?
has some interesting riffs and rhythm patterns but the vocals and sometimes the mixing is a huge downer
