how is this so low ranked???? this is actually very well produced and for being a mix of brazil funk (or funk mandelão), hip house and other shades of edm music it's really great and experimental in a way that I think Simz and producer Jakwob made a groovy and vibey actualization on the Drop series. I mean there are some disappointing songs and performances by Simz but this is a solid EP with a fire start. And I know, Honestly, Nevermind by Drake was also something like this but the ... read more
wtf???? this came out in my birthday??? and it's actually GOOD?
Ok firstly I've discovered this thanks to (again) the LittleBigPlanet 2 Soundtrack with the song Rock Your Body Rock, which still a good electroclash / electro house song with a PHAT bass and I mean PHAT bass like so hypnotic and particular from electroclash and late 2000's electro house, like for example Vitalic. In overall this album is good, decent maybe bloated because last for a hour and 20 minutes but still like good 2000's ... read more
ok, I'm at the middle of this fucking thing and I want to jump out from a 20 floor building so my body would be so fucked up MY CORPSE can't be able to listen to this shit. THIS IS THE MOST ROTTEN FORM OF COMEDY ON MUSIC I HAVE EVER LISTENED, UNFUNNY AND TAKING ITSELF SERIOUSLY AT THE SAME TIME WITH THE ARROGANCE OF A FRAT WHITE BOY. I HAVE NO MOUTH BUT I MUST SCREAM.
I have to calm myself so I can finish this, I have to take a rest a review the rest an everything would be ok, everything ... read more
This is what a perfect EP should be, only two songs but absolutely perfect, ear piercing groove forward pieces or movements of post rock and noise rock. And I said movements because this feels like two songs connected and a clear progression getting more noisier and more claustrophobic with how the production by Steve Albini is so gritting and tight with that huge bass I feel is cutting my skin with each slap so metallic sounding, meanwhile the guitars are another monster with how calming could ... read more
thanks to my dad for making me listen to Smack My Bitch Up when I was 4yo
Ok I don't know where I landed with this album I think is good, not perfect or bad but good, and also boundary pushing for the day it came out, because this feels really like PROTO hyperpop, cementing a legacy for this loud form of pop structured songs. I think there are some misses like the songs It Takes A Muscle and It Iz What It Iz, like 5/10 or 6/10 songs, but the rest is good, excellent and well executed with its raw energy and adrenaline.
This soundtrack sounds excellent!! I hope the movie drops soon, looking forward for that!!
(I'm writing a full review, meanwhile take that cheeky commentary)
personally I can't force myself to listen to this, the story behind disgusts me and is a case that the context of an LP limits me to enjoy the music.
Can you believe it? This is actually amazing.
I don't know but I love this style of electro music, is like you're driving at insane speeds in a cyberpunk-ish world. Yeah maybe is one note this LP but I think the vibe doesn't cut at any moment and the production is actually better than Ok Cowboy, even though I prefer some tracks than the majority on this record. And I should say that sometimes the vibe almost reminds me of tracks from Daft Punk's Discovery, like I've said that sci-fi feeling ... read more
In the middle of a decade of counterculture and attitude, this fragile masterpiece of a LP dropped. And still impressive how timeless this feels, a personal and depressing induced set of recordings with just a limited variety of instruments and the limited voice range of Elliott. Those limitations didn't stop this album to be one of the best folk albums ever, the songwriting and the performances are so on point up to perfection, and even though elliott's singing isn't "perfect" but ... read more
waiting for the jingle bells prison edition
For me this is still the best jazz record of the 2010's. Almost 5 years since this dropped and I've heard it, and still I haven't listen to another new jazz record better than this chaotic and cathartic collection of memories and harrowing narrations in form of the most left field sounds I've heard from jazz. The narrations and spoken word are one of the highlights here but the instrumentation it feels like each instrument is fighting for attention and creating sometimes an organized cacophony ... read more
I feel like the reason I've stopped liking this LP is because I grew up. I'm not saying this is only for kids but I was like 15 when i discovered this, and after all these years of listening to this or revisiting it my enjoyment gradually fell off year by year and I think this happens to me because nowdays I can't force me to have fun with some of the tracks here, even though there are some classics of speedcore like The Big Black, and Shut Down Everything it's annoying but still bangs just ... read more
I FEEL LIKE THE REAL WAY TO CRITIQUE THIS ALBUM IS WRITING IN CAPITAL LETTERS.
WHERE DO I START? FIRSTLY BEWARE THE VOLUME BEFORE LISTENING, YOU WILL LOSE SOME HEARING BECAUSE OF THIS. THE VOLUME IS FUCKED UP IN A WAY THAT STARTS LOUD, GETS LOUDER AND NOISIER SONG BY SONG EVEN THOUGH THE ONLY SONG NOT AS NOISY AS THE REST IS MIFFY. SORRY BUT I DON'T REALLY KNOW IF I ENJOYED THIS OR NOT, THE SOUND IT'S EXTREME BUT I WANT TO GET CRAZY WITH SOME OF THESE BEATS BECAUSE IS LIKE SEEING THE MOST ... read more
welcome to The Will Toledo Experience.
firstly, I think this is in my top 3 best albums by CSH. But that second half (DEATH) it's the reason this isn't a 10/10, there are some boring songs or not so interesting as others like Big Jacket, Jus Tired or Dreams Fall Hard which its pace is so slow and feels endless. That said, the rest of the LP is good, interesting or perfect like the first half (LOVE) and I get if you (CSH fan) don't like songs like Jerks but I really liked it, the structure and ... read more
