fr tho, this is a comfortable mix between puberty 2, laurel hell and the land. i don't hate it, even tho i wasn't the biggest fan of the land. i admire mitskis ability to switch up her sound so often and have it sound so natural.
easily the best song is "that white cat". the drums are electric, bro. "i'll change for you" and "dead women" are also absolutely amazing.
listen, its a fine album. it sounds nothing like the replacements. its more reminiscent of what paul westerberg would later go on to do. whether or not you like that is up to you. lyrically, its great, sonically, its good (except for those weird production choices on “all shook down”) but its not anything like the other albums. its not even like “dont tell a soul”, and they caught a lot of flack for that album sounding different.
