A solid first album, unlike the rest of their future LP’s this one feels more experimental pop and you can tell there’s an actual focus on the music and letting it breathe for a second. The other albums, although still not bad at all, focus more on the song structure and pop vocals and melodies than the music itself. This LP has some great cuts on here. Not disappointed.
The first four tracks are easily the best from this record, along with Follow You, which is beyond infectious….you can really hear the band returning to something more raw on this record but still not full of real human feelings. Songs like Wrecked, and My Life are solid and you can hear the emotion at least to an extent but the other cuts on here are about void of life and the screaming can be a huge turn off for some.
Over all a ‘good’ effort and it has some listenable ... read more
Now I do oddly enough consider myself a fan of blackbear...this album was in fact a bit too long for my liking and there are definitely fillers here. I really think the opening track is weak and the closing track is weak. I like a handful of the cuts on here like Swear to God, High 1x, Hate my guts, 1 sided love, & too close. All these are straight vibes of songs that you can play in the car with friends, in the back ground at parties etc...Yes he does tend to dwell in the emo depressed pop ... read more
Solid first song that I've heard from him. I did a full reaction/review analysis on my youtube channel and was impressed with his vocal range. The subject matter is also unique and creatively written from the lyrics to the melody and the plain but good enough instrumental backing it.
I used to watch her videos on youtube and was pleasantly surprised by how good this was. Im getting a XXXtentacion vibe, if he was a girl and leaned more on the pop type sound. Very catchy hook. I am definitely interested if she puts out a project in the future. solid job for the first single.
Mac Miller’s best, most versatile product of artistic expression to date. I didnt grow up on Mac but knowing the two previous projects before this one, i know this is his highest piece of art yet. Yes it’s not perfect and his singing and fall flat and some songs slow and uninteresting BUT the others outweigh the flaws. Rip Mac.
Not bad music by any means but nothing special by any means. It’s bland r&b. His vocals are good and he’s got talent for sure but not sure it’s hitting the mark. All the track sound the same but only 3 or 4 stood out as ones i MIGHT go back to. There’s too much marketing for this guy but no execution with his music.
For someone who isn’t into country music too heavily, there’s something about Morgan Wallen that executes the over done formula just right. Unlike atrocities like Luke Bryan , Morgan’s voice and songwriting here feels genuine and that’s rare to me in country artists!
To be plain, the first album in the double album blows the second one out of the water. If the first half was released as a stand alone album, Morgan would have an album of hits!
However the second album of ... read more
I was never a really big fan of Joji’s first project Ballads1. I liked maybe three songs off of it, i didn’t get the appeal but i saw the potential.
This album and with its four big singles blew me away, to a point where i thought to myself that if this guy’s whole album is like this, he could be something history talks about years from now.
Now that the album is out, i can say that this wasn’t the case. The rest of album were not as commercially, production wise, and ... read more
best album of theirs by far. Sure not the best production and obviously the budget was fairly small but it works in the organic nature of their album. The songs are indie, rock, catchy and poppy. Solid 2010's Indie/pop album
I understood going into this that this was suppose to be his album filled with the deep cuts, but I still brought my expectations too high. I like a handful of songs but less than his previous two albums. The deluxe made it much more enjoyable with more catchy hooks. and as sad as it is, I really only go to russ for his infectious catchy hooks and the rap along lyrics. but this wasn't the strongest for me for obvious reasons.
this is what a debut album should be, full of hits. Some duds but over all very enjoyable.
I actually quite enjoyed this sophomore effort. Yes there are a couple duds but by no means did I find this to be boring and awful like most critics did. He has some of his most personal tracks on here and its nice to hear. I never did mind the bragging "I do everything myself" bars so when he got in that bag, it wasn't annoying. He can be little too woke at times but the rap music and his vocal tone/ cadence just does it for me.
witty bars and good flow, he definitely has talent. Hope he can pull a creative project out soon.
This was highly anticipated by myself before it's release but it hasn't held its own weight over time. I can go back to 3 or 4 tracks on here but ultimately underwhelming.
Remains his best project to date. His artistry is shown through the few bangers but mostly through his story telling tracks. The biggest flaw for Joyner is his replay value. Not strong with all of his work.
