i trusted that 21 was gonna come with another nice trap album with some good bars and some vulnerable points, some fun spots and some more somber spots and that’s what we got. I love the track with lil durk except for lil durk, i really like letter to my brudda that felt like a Jay-Z track, but my favorite had to be the outro track simply because of how honest it is, how lyrically focused it is, and how vulnerable 21 got. there were definitely some sore spots just songs that didn’t ... read more
Rich can mostly hold his own in this genre, and honestly does it better than most in it. Besides some filler, i’m excited to see what comes next from him
quadeca with yet ANOTHER group of super creative and enjoyable beautiful tracks with stunning production and great writing. if these are his extra songs he’s just pumping out i can’t imagine what him actually trying will be. it’s too easy for him at this point
i ascended on the second half of even if i tried
Drake has to go back to the drawing board
Either that or we’ve just been listening to AI Drake the whole time and the jokes on us
benito took the filler from un verano and made it a whole other album
a nice handful of grimy griselda tracks on here, while other tracks are just ok. i found the sampling pretty creative and cool, however. the highs on this album really hit the spot.
i have the same critiques for this one as the first "Jaguar" album
production is very nice, great basslines, soulful rnb beats but the execution could just be a lot better, especially lyrically and conceptually. there was completely no need for that reprise especially because the song before was so surface level and boring the fact that it continued on for another almost 2 mins just made me mad. however, the overall vibe and aesthetic of this album and the beats are the true points ... read more
baby keem but with better flows better beats and better RAPPING.
lyrically could be a bit more inspired and could have a bit more variation song to song, however lots of potential for this guy. i love his vibe, creativity and personality. excited to see more from him
overated lol
the trap songs are kinda boring, most features don’t bring much, and some beats are really really good while others are a snoooooze. nightcrawler is rly good, 90210 is nice, so is antidote, but i’m not getting the hype from the other songs. i’ve relistened to some of the biggest favorites besides the ones i previously mentioned, and i come up with nothing. i don’t get it. it feels a lot like a debut album lyrically and vocally. productions pretty cool tho
82->83
Utopia continues to age well, and i revisit lots of the tracks on here, gotta give it to travis he came with great energy and fun most of the way through
This album, while flawed, makes me really happy. travis had the perfect chance to copy the common trap formula and make an album that your average trap-only person who doesn’t really listen to music would say “this is so fireee.” but fuck those ppl am i right. they’re actively hating on this project as we ... read more
wow.
as a music producer myself, i feel like it means even more when i say this is a mindblowingly impressive project. the sound palette used on this album is super gorgeous and psychedelic and the production is so clean, so multifaceted and intricate. The vocals are amazing, very psychedelic sounding and the lyrical content is really tasteful. my girlfriend technically put me on to this but the biggest surprise to me is where the hype for this album is at because while it seems to be accepted ... read more
Slightly overrated on this one man. I cant really get behind some of the hype
This album starts out with a ridiculous pace, with the bangers of Corso & Lemonhead, giving you no room to breathe with these hard, distorted, and aggressive tracks, which I liked. But this brings me into my next point, that some of the features on this album are soo random and soo out of place like how could you expect a good 42 Dugg verse there. you couldn’t. why would you put lil uzi vert on an ... read more
I was excited to hear this new Mike Dimes album. I thought his last record was flawed but showed potential. What we’re seeing with TEXAS BOY is dated trap beats, dated trap lyrics, and brings nothing really of interest that we haven’t heard before, lyrically or instrumentally. I feel like having Denzel Curry and Joey Badass on this record is an attempt at looking like a rapper who’s music has the same quality and consciousness those artists have, yet that’s not the case. ... read more
i didn’t want this, i didn’t need this, i didn’t know this was ever gonna be a thing, why is it so good
endtroduction is amazing
