Ive been meaning to rate this one but i just havent enjoyed writing recently, so just rq,
really good lots of fun choices, exmilitary is exceptional, peggy continues an exceptional streak of projects.
I think everyone wanted to hate this one, it came out at that perfect time where everybody needed a reason to hate drake, I just dont think its that bad.
The kim kardashian thing is a gimmick and kinda dumb, and he makes some really poor vocal choices in spots, but I think its enjoyable enough that I can vibe with it
Yall are free to cook me for this but this thing go hard.
Honestly nevermind is genuinely trash, but I think theirs a magic to one dance, I just can so visually picture drake drinking champagne at one of his rich douchebag parties while all of his yes men tell drake how amazing he is.
Also i think its kinda fascinating he didnt make a music video for a song with 3.2 billion streams

Logic, Logic, Logic.
Logics such an interesting existence in the hiphop sphere, becuase he somehow has never felt all that culturally relevant, and he doesnt do crazy on streaming, but he also sells like a mfer and has one of the bigger rap hits of all time (1-800).

Butch comes back 6 months after the solid but not crazy everbody cant go.
Summertime butch is a 24 minute safe but fun project with solid flows and vibes from benny. This project lacks the highs of everbldy cant go, but its a very consistent and concise project, perfectly enjoyable in the background summer vibes.
Id say its at its best in the last 3 tracks for me

Polos def a lil overrhated on this site. Hes not the most versatile rapper, but hes got one of the best voices in the rap scene and pretty damn solid introspective writing.
Polos in a pretty weird spot career wjse because of hall of fame, which while a flawed album I think is also a bit overhated, but polo had to make a big impression on this album for a lot of people. For me he did that pretty well.
Mixing is iffy and theirs some repetitive beats, but id rather talk positive

Lupe is one of my favorite artist of all time, and I do feel bad he never got that mainstream recognition, but lasers definately wasnt the way too do it.
Positives wise, lupes reallllly smooth flow and delivery wise and I wouldnt say his writing isnt much worse, his rapping is never the reason the tracks fail.
But holllllly fuck is this cheezy and aged like trash. Really 3 mdma features? trey songz??? The beats feel so 2010 its painful.

Yachtys voice doesnt really work on this type of instrumentals.
Weezy carries on the vibe yachty kinda made but bad autotune and some bad vaccine bars make its not work.
And the beats pretty stagnant.
Durk went so much harder than I thought he would lfg.

I generally think steez and joey always had a lot more emotional presence and their passion shined through in ways I dont see in some other boombap rappers. 1999 addresses from multiple directions of joeys mindset.
I feel like you can really here joeys passion on hardknock, his denial of his heartbreak in pennyroyal is so relatable, his drive on survival tactics rivals people like nas.
And i think thats griselda literally biggest problem, westside gunn is so immensly talented, but I feel like he always raps in the same exact way, I know who westside gunn is as a rapper, but I dont feel that inner motivation that makes him tick as a person."
