The hooks fucking suck and make the tracks feel odd as there is no linking piece to bring the verses together. More bridges would also fix this issue. Outside of that, it's a fun enough pop album and exactly what I would expect from Jade. Her vocals are great, she just needs to perfect writing a good chorus that doesn't make the songs take a dip in quality because the potential is absolutely here.

It got off to a wee bit of a slow start with the songs being okay but not ever going anywhere. Thankfully she locked in for the second half and delivered several bangers. A solid debut album and it makes me all the more excited to hear her discography!
Best songs: Let Me, Pon De Replay, Now I Know, Rush (with Cardinal Offishall)
Worst song: If It's Lovin' That You Want
Some cool ideas come together at the end but generally this wasn't executed very well. The potential was never realised which stops a song like Angel #48 from being as great as it should be (it's still comfortably the best on the album.)
It's a shame because the aesthetic was so intriguing, but the end result is annoying production with basic, often cringeworthy lyricism and performances that are only ever average at best. I see how this mini could've worked, but since the ... read more
it was nice but nothing else. Just another inoffensively okay ep
Best songs: A Little More, Won't Cry
Worst song: Wait so yeah
Laufey is the most "not for me" artist i know of. I felt confused listening to this album because her vocals are great, the lyricism was decent and it sounds pretty: i like every aspect of this album, but the songs mostly bounced off me or left me feeling bored. I guess jazz just isn't my thing and when all those aspects come together, they don't click? I get the appeal and think it does work for who it is meant for, but that simply isn't me.
One complaint I do have ... read more

Fred again's production is such a perfect fit for Skepta

A huge step up from Short N Sweet across the board. The beats while being fairly unoriginal felt refreshing to hear (with the exception of "Manchild") and is a natural evolution of her sound pallete with Sabrina performing well on them. Definitely her best produced album thus far. There's not much of the signature bold 1 liners that made the previous album appealing to many, but that side of sabrina isn't one I enjoyed so I am not complaining plus her sense of humour is ... read more

Best songs: Juno, Please Please Please (with Dolly Parton), Bed Chem, Taste
Worst songs: Good Graces, Please Please Please
It may not have her most memorable songs but it's easily her most consistent and best project. Not only the singles matter here. #justiceforsmile
Best songs: Champagne Problems, Daisies, Never Really Over, Not The End of the World, Smile, Harleys In Hawaii, Tucked
Worst song: Teary Eyed
Never in my life have i been this drained listening to a pop album. For every nostalgic banger on this album there are 4000 horrible ballads, terrible production choices and unlistenable moments. Anne-Marie has always been one of the least interesting, most infuriating British pop artists and she's just not an engaging enough artist to make this worst. There are a couple of bangers but I would never revisit this as a whole.

That westlife collab is fucking awful but the rest of this is good despite the sound getting tiring.
Best songs: Searching For Truth, Shine We Are !, B.I.O
Worst song: Flying Without Wings (with Westlife)
I do get why the vocal production especially on "crushing" (which is saved hard by the chorus) may make people turn away, but i have loved what Sombr has brought to mainstream music this year and absolutely loved this. The singles bang and the other cuts show off some versatility in sound that Sombr pulls off well. I do hope his next album is not as overblown with the production on the vocals because as a performer he truly is a star, but even with it, this album is excellent and I ... read more
Peak year for generic pop and ava continues to be the best at it. Praying wherever her label situation goes leads her to bigger things she deserves better
