Out of all the Death Grips albums, I think this is one the most and least interesting one of all of them. It is one of the most interesting because I think they have kinda taken a slight detour from making hip-hop or at least hip-hop-inspired albums. Zeal & Ardor's self-titled album has a lot of tracks that hit but there are also some misses that are hard to ignore.
Good on Z&A for fusing different genres with metal and I think it goes over well for the most part. For example, tracks like Run, Death of the Holy, Erase, Bow, and a few others work very well. Visions of Bodies Being Burned is an incredibly consistent album that has the elements of horror, noise, industrial and experimental hip-hop. Each track is great and unique in its own way and not a single one feels like it doesn't belong on the album. Lyrically, the album is also very focused. What a Complete Experience
The way it is paced and structured, this project feels more like an album than some albums do. The start is strong and the end is even stronger. This adds a lot to the experience of the entire thing and makes it very VERY gratifying.
The songs themselves are dark, heavy, and produced to perfection. The heavy riffs on top of these incredible vocals on top of it make even individual tracks perfect on their own.
