Really liked the instrumentation however I didn't really like the vocals that much. A bit different compared to the earlier "the now now and never" but still very interesting indie rock or whatever. "the beginning" sounded very pink floydy for some reason
I put of listening to this album a lot, and what a mistake that was. I love the melodies on this album so much and the heavy use of sampling fits this project very well. All around a great LP
For me this is another front heavy album, not like the latter songs are bad but just the first 5 songs are way better overall.
In the context of their whole discography, Suicide Season doesn't stand out that much for me to be honest. While the songs are not bad I believe they're overshadowed by either the heavier "Count your Blessings" or the better constructed masterpiece that is "There is a hell...". Still its not a bad record and has many great great songs like "The Sadness Will Never End" with Architect's Sam Carter or the cult classic "Chelsea Smile", but ... read more
