Imma be so fr with you, the Avatar movies are one of if not my favorite franchise. And the music never fucking misses
This is some pretty classic shoegaze guitarshit. But it’s really good. If I could describe this album in one word it would be hopeful. Obviously I cannot understand what the lyrics mean, but the album sounds like the happiest piece of Shoegaze I’ve ever listened to. The guitars are like a warm, reassuring hug. As for the actual tracks, the best song is pretty handedly Stargazing. It sounds like the most wonderful, beautiful dream ever, before slowly falling into deeper sleep, ... read more
Hmmmmm. To give my opening thoughts, I simply ask, what was that? People have described this album as the peak of folk, the most beautiful album they’ve ever heard, a transcending experience that sort of highlights the essence of a man who’s reached his breaking point, drowning in regret and depression, but it just did not feel that way to me. I even understand why people have so much praise for this thing. Fuck, I mean it has one of the most “masterpiece” feels ... read more
Gosh man I love dream pop. The atmosphere of this album is so deeply lush and beautiful, it feels like I’m diving into a pool of endless lavender. I mean seriously I haven’t heard something this lush since that Fishmans album a while back. And while yes, it doesn’t hit the same highs that the Fishmans album does, it’s extremely consistent. At times I did find myself being a little bored, however the album REALLY picks up in the second half. Every song here lulled me away ... read more
For a long time this has been one of my favorite albums ever. It’s so fucking underrated and you can just hear the fun they had making this shit. Top notch
To open my review, I’ll start off simple and positive.
This is definitely not bad. I absolutely adore that simplistic, garage band sound that this album gives off. It’s almost a little grungy at times which is also excellent. However my gripes come from the lack of explosive moments. It flows together well, but almost too well if you get what I’m trying to say. I couldn’t find many standouts here, but this definitely has me intrigued to listen to more strokes stuff
The Rainbow became very careful and decided never again to touch the ground
So now, although he may wish to, no one will ever again be able to reach either of the ends of the rainbow.
I didn’t think a guitar and a British man reading a kids book would make me pause to think about life
Another mystery friend rec, this is actually awesome. I love love love the soaring jazz production and the lyrics are incredible thoughtful and emotional.
Sometimes I wonder why we’re even here

God fucking dammit man this could get the hundo
I fucking love Earl Sweatshirt man. This album to me is the decent and collapse of thought into emptiness and depression. Each song is written so amazingly that it feels like Earl is losing himself in depression, the will to push on vanishing due to societal pressures, and his own mind beating down on him. The lyricism is top fucking notch, and god is it emotional. My only complaints here are that a few of the beats are just a little avant-garde hip hop for me, and mainly that it’s too ... read more
Ok guys I’m gonna be real frank. This one is not for me. For what it’s worth, the guitar work is pretty good, however it was overall a kind of boring experience. The tracks didn’t really flow into each other well and sometimes they feel a little lacking, especially that 7 minute instrumental, it felt out of place on an album like this. However my biggest problem was definitely the vocals, extremely poorly mixed. I could never hear what this guy was saying, so I had to actually ... read more
So before I get into what I liked and shit, crazy story on how I found this. So I just finished Yoshimi (beautiful album btw please please go listen) and I was thinking “hey man what the hell did they put above this??” So I began my search and eventually stumbled upon this little thing. It looked interesting so I immediately downloaded it for free off of bandcamp and added it to Spotify through local files. Anyways, DAMN that was cool. The rhythms these guys got into were insane! ... read more
Disease is a terrible thing, but it can be beautiful. We really see the beauty of the things in our lives the most before we’re about to lose them, and this album describes that feeling in utter perfection, absolutely incredible.
I’m gonna be so fr with you folks. For starters this album is incredibly well produced, I often found myself vibing with the instruments. The lyrics however… heh. I’ve seen many people place this as “male manipulator music”, however to me that’s just a coverup for being one of the most incel albums I’ve ever heard. I mean when it really boils down to it, this album is boring biased breakup-slop at its core. And to add to the boredom that this thing ... read more
I’m not gonna lie, the first track led me to believe this would be something more mediocre, but the next few absolutely hooked me. This is a delightful little album filled with just enough joy to keep me happy over these bum ahh holidays. Dewy Roses was fucking amazing! You know when you hear water sounds on an indie Japanese song it’s going to go crazy
Certified panchiko fan now. Another recommendation from my mystery friend. This one is great, definitely not as good as deathmetal, but fantastic nonetheless. I think it definitely has its strengths, the guitar work is fantastic, however I think the vocals are lacking a little here
I haven’t reviewed a lot of the Unc shit I listen to, but this one is very special to me. The stranger is truly beautiful.
That is some HELLA good J-rock. One of my bestest buddies has been highly yapping about China Ringtone for a while, and I finally got around to listening to her debut. Goodness gracious that was pretty awesome. I LOVE her voice, definitely going to check out some more of her discography.
