This greatest blog era rap album, and quite possibly one of the best albums I’ve ever heard
Did my boy Ed “Scream his own name on Weird Fishes” just put out peak?? Short answer, and long answer really, yeah he freakin did. The solo careers of Radiohead members have been… spotty, at best. AHHHHHH THAT WAS SO FUCKING GOOD. If I was musically conscious in 2020 I feel like this would have carried me through the darker points of the pandemic. Truly Lianne has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard, and oh my god that Radiohead cover??? Would I say it’s as good as the original, no, but it’s really fucking good, and actually fits with the rest of the album so well. PLEASE LIANNE DROP ANOTHER ALBUM
This was some pretty solid, beautifully produced modern day gangsta rap. While it does lack some lyrical complexity, the lyrics are hardened, gruff and amazingly convey Gunn’s feelings and thoughts. This album does a fantastic job creating an environment that the listener really feels, and that is worth highlighting.
This is such a fucking direction shift from their first album it’s actually kinda insane. But fuck was that good
