Following the release of her Magnum Opus "Melodrama", Lorde had a lot to say, and we had a lot to hear. Completely veering from her infectious melancholic pop sound, the artist had a lot to prove with this new folk sound she adapted.
Unfortunately, this album completely disappointed. Laced with dull tracks with terrible instrumentals and boring vocals (that become cringy and embarrassing as the project comes to wither) this album has nothing interesting going on. (Sans- Mood ... read more
American Life is often a misunderstood record by the public due to social tensions at the time... But, yet again Madonna fails to disappoint. Completely indulging herself into the experimental world, Madonna curated the most honest and personal album of her career, while creating the "folk-tronica" genre. I personally believe this album was wrongly advertised... despite her clear intention to criticize the American society during times of war and chaos, this album does not reflect ... read more
Talk That Talk is an album with high euphoric and perfectly crafted hits which are reminiscent of melancholic 10's nostalgia that refuse to age over time. But unfortunately, more songs can be skipped than praised. Starting great and falling flat by the 6th song, the album becomes shallow and leaves nothing to look forward to. Talk That Talk is far from being one of Ms. Fenty's best bodies of work.
Heavily influenced by the works of Icelandic art-pop artist "Björk", Madonna combined mother-hood and spirituality to make one of the most intelligent pop albums of all time. Although I believe 1998's "Ray Of Light" is her musical peak, Like a Prayer is her best "built" and structured body of work.
A perfect album that uses it's time wisely with masterpieces such as "Pray for Spanish Eyes", "Promise to Try" and obviously, the title track. "Like a Prayer" being her most personal album makes you feel like you are listening to a diary instead of a 30m selling album
