aw man whyd you do that):
Every single song on this album has something to be appreciated deeply. Whether that's a certain way she uses samples or vocal distortion or her incredible lyricism. Just excellent.
I enjoyed this album a lot. No really, stop looking at the score. The story and the majority of the lyricism (especially in the closing few tracks) are both excellent. Every song has something which gets stuck in your head and brings you back. But ultimately its musically lacking; whether its being a bit too repetitive or just trying something which doesn't quite work.
It makes very little difference to me that this album sounds virtual identical to a Black Country New Road album. It's unequivocally beautiful and moving. Some of the songs do fall off near their ends though.
Unapologetic music to apologise with.
Kanye makes no comprimises in constructing one of the most consistently stunning and beautiful albums. Also anyone hating on Blame Game doesn't get it and is just bandwagoning, album's full of shit like that get over it.
It's only struggle is a lack of consistent narrative, merely gestures towards one. The only real narrative is Kanye's feelings but sometimes the album seems to imply going beyond that, but it never does.
Danny Brown attempts a hyperpop album and its goes pretty well, some features work better than others (lookin at Brokie and femtanyl) but its broadly great.
She's lost "it". At one point she had it but she doesn't have it anymore.
She didn't bring interesting production and consistently bombed on the lyrics. Bad album.
Not a neat musical progression in the sense that we have to come to expect but instead the culmination of Quadeca's projects since turning 18. Rapping reminiscent of VM and FMTY returns alongside storytelling from IDMTHY with innovative production. Quadeca is here, as himself.
Justin Bieber has been failing to evolve for a while now and this album continues that. Only difference is that he brought druski along to ragebait in some interludes. To my ear, druski's bizarre tangents (calling justin's soul black, telling him to do a blaccent and trying to get him to smoke) are desperate attempts to generate discussion around boring music.
Fairly clearly a series of experiments rather than the finished product, but a very successful series of experiments nonetheless.
A generally good yet underwhelming project for PUP. Parts feel like demos or just undercooked ideas. Second half is a measurable improvement, 'Paranoid' was especially good.
Kevin Abstract with some of the most talented people in his contacts, no surprise that it's great. Despite a couple of weak (but by no means bad) tracks in the opening half (e.g. Text Me, Copy), they find their footing and thrive to produce a great summer album.
Rarely is it more blatant that someone hasn't tried. This album isn't the worst thing I've ever heard but its pure background noise, not worth the listening time tbh.
Great collaboration, feel intricately crafted. Beats or flows occasionally get a little lazy but this whole project is mostly great or better.
