Decided to check this out after seeing it on the new releases page, its pretty good. nothing super special though.
idk guys i liked it. mostly the same shit but the shits good so who cares rlly? who was expecting innovation from a 10 minute tape?
Some of their most consistently creative music but only for the first half.
Poser grew old fast bc of the chorus but this EP has some of the most impressive rapping I've heard this year.
Sick EP dude, where's the album already tho. Seriously though, this does make me really excited for the album. I hope the whole thing sounds like 'RIGHT THERE' and/or 'HOTBOX.'
Holy shit it's another Jane Remover win. Second time she's gonna be topping my 2025 list.
After a few listens for it to click, I finally get it. And its fucking great.
The best tracks of this album will stick with you for a while, mostly due to Hartkop's desperate, passionate delivery.
Holy shit Quad's gonna do it again. Crazy creativity, beautiful instrumentation and great performance. Vanisher may well be AOTY
Woah. This album is great, thrives whether its integrating new instruments and angry vocals or stripping back the layers to provide quiet acoustic cuts.
Gets repetitive, don't love her delivery and she's not quite figured out how to do emotional cuts like she has bangers. I generally enjoyed it though.
Voice Memos contains Quadeca’s cleanest production up to this point and unlike his previous projects he’s no longer outright lying about the degree of his wealth and fame in his lyrics. Nevertheless, his lyrics still often feel impersonal and vague enough to encompass all Youtube rappers. The exception to this rule being “A Dream I Can’t Remember” which was Quadeca’s most creative song both lyrically and musically at this point.
This project displays a greater desire to create different types of music beyond just eminem clone rap. He at least tries to experiment with beats
using guitar loops or piano pieces and tries autotune. Additionally he seems to be trying to express his feelings rather than impersonating what he’s seen elsewhere. It’s still not good but it’s trying to be distinct.
Despite the two year interval, Quadeca pretty much failed to grow as an artist beyond embracing more autotune and learning to rap faster. Additionally, many of his attempts to experiment with instrumentals are just annoying gimmicks.
