Work in Progress is bad. It’s terribly mixed in a way you can’t ignore, the rhymes are corny, he’s either doing this pretend deep voice or sounds like a child when he tries (and fails) to sing. He also painfully brags about fame and talks about life despite admitting that he doesn’t even have 100k subscribers at this point and being literally 14.
Starts off as a more melodic and calm project to give you false hope before Quad delivers some of his corniest rhymes, his worst beats and deliveries as well as just bad concepts.
This feels cruel to be mean to, not only was it made in a day but it’s a collaboration album with Quadeca’s less musically experienced friend, Saint G. But the number of bad decisions being made merits cruelty. The whole record is plagued by bad delivery and worse autotune. On one song there’s a sample of them threatening to report a traffic cop before using an Eminem beat, what in the white rapper is occurring on this project.
I guess it was cool but it was really inconsistent, I'm yet to return to any tracks other than "Darlin'" since I did my few listens to rate it.
Why are half of these tracks here, these guys are really just tryna hit the hour mark. This album is mostly good but be real it's only really gonna be remembered for "Like That."
Really varied in my opinion. Flicks wildly between tracks like "HOT ONE" where Denzel and multiple other rappers can really bounce energy off of each other and these cuts where Denzel and the other rappers just have no chemistry like "WISHLIST" and they just end up dragging each other down. I appreciated the aesthetic and vibe the album/mixtape created but it just didn't always land for me.
Not a metalhead or even really a metal enjoyer but this record is undeniably impressive.
"Just wanna touch on some points, man, that bother me"
The record feels like Ka's wisdom from beyond the grave, warning about temptation and the path he worried his culture was heading down. It's unfortunately musically repetitive but it's fairly easy to look past that and appreciate what he's saying.

What else is there to say except Billie does it again. She's now a matured and developed artist, no unnecessary edgy-ness or melodrama; everything in this record feels deliberate and thought-out. A serious candidate for her best work, but honestly that's true for nearly every project she releases because she keeps one upping herself.

Yeah I think I finally figured out Carti. Simply shut your brain off and ts rules. Kendrick was solid (and a hypocrite but whatever) and his feats were some of the best moments. I'm glad I wasn't one of the people who cared for 2 years or however long it's been "about to drop" because I was free to just enjoy it. That being said, the second half of the album falls off hard and I reckon about half the album could've been cut. Overall, its a bit dramatic (and bloated ... read more
I just don't feel it, sorry gang. I see all the elements of emotional vulnerability, solid rapping and great features but it just doesn't come together for me. I just don't get Denzel's music but I'll probably try a few more times in the future, maybe I'll get it eventually.
JID is an outstanding and unique lyricist, rapper and storyteller and The Forever Story proves that again and again with every single track. No wasted space and no skips, a modern classic.
Holy shit. This duo is just outstanding, Black Thought and Danger Mouse are both so focused, not a wasted bar or beat on this whole project. They don't need any help making seriously impressive stuff but they bring it in anyway and every feature is outstanding, especially MF DOOM and Run The Jewels. Truly amazing project.
God he really is just that guy. That's memorable bar in every verse of every song of this thing, the production is on point (if occasionally repetitive) and Ghais' presence and charisma is nearly unparalleled. Zero wasted space on this banger of a project.
Nip was an impressive rapper and lyricist, this album (especially moments like "Victory Lap" and "Blue Laces 2") definitely proves that much. But there's a pretty pronounced dip in quality in my opinion in the second half which is disappointing.
A strange aberration in Tyler's career as primarily a talented troll rapper but a welcome one. When I listened through his discography last year I found most of the projects to be basically weak, bad to mid depending on how much edginess you can stomach. But this album was a breath of fresh air, a beautiful soul/pop album which is laser-focused on a concept which is absolutely delivers on. Not many artists could manage a u-turn like this so successfully that they make possibly the greatest ... read more
To me, there are two possible interpretations for this album. The first is that Eminem thinks he can make bad music for a concept and doesn't care about dragging his listeners through a slog and expects to be praised for having that concept to justify bad music. The second is that he wanted an excuse to make transphobic music which appeals to his most right-wing, corny and annoying fans. Obviously I don't know the guy but I reckon intent barely matters, he seems to have exclusively ... read more
holy shit i love ska when you get to hit the pentagon. this song is only bad if you lack joy and whimsy.
