this is what i wanted from charli, not some boring club music and lyrics about cocaine, so excited for that album
Happiness Is Going to Get You is easily Allie X’s best work in a while. The title track (well kinda "title track") and It’s Just Light are the clear standouts for me. Right now this is my favorite album of hers, much closer in terms of sound to Cape God than Girl With No Face. It feels like a project she really needed after the louder, more dance-heavy direction of the last record. Here the piano-led, calmer production gives the songs room to breathe and lean into ... read more
one of my fav albums of all time, everything about this project is perfect
it's a pretty safe pop ballad from her, extremely sad and i got emotional with the daisy reference in the music video
one of my fav katy songs from the beginning, and it just proves that people hate on katy because they don't like her, it's not about the music
she would be so over if it came out today 😭 but it's still iconic and one of my fav childhood songs
this is one of the most interesting songs i've heard in a while, i thought rosalia was mainly reggae cuz that's how i remembered motomami?
best single this era, should've been the lead or at least included in the original version
SEX IS POWER - 10/10
HOW TO SAY GOODBYE - 10/10
KEY TO THE CASTLE - 9/10
UNFAMILIAR HEAVENS - 9/10
i couldn't imagine a more perfect reissue
the album sounds way better with these bonus tracks and this amazing cover (the og one was ugly as hell)
The singles gave me hope, honestly. Even though I’m a huge fan of Holy Fvck and Demi’s heavier sound, I thought Fast was a pretty solid track. The second single, Here All Night, is almost perfect, great pop song that just works on every level. Then things start going downhill. Frequency sounds like a Charli xcx leftover, especially like 365 (and that’s not exactly a compliment). Let You Go and Sorry To Myself have this fresh wave of nostalgia that instantly took me back to the ... read more
I don’t get why everyone’s hating. I agree she should switch up her sound, but y’all literally called negative spaces peak and now when there’s another metal track, suddenly it’s “boring”? It’s obvious she wouldn’t stick with that style forever. I’m honestly convinced she’s dropping an EP as kind of a goodbye to the negative spaces era, and then she’ll switch sounds again. I thought it was pretty obvious that when she ... read more
this era really feels like tdopom v2 for some reason which is interesting but definitely the better direction to go in 2025 than their debut or sophomore cuz it shows how they’re experimenting with sounds, alt rock / metalcore with some unexpected experimental twists is something i’m a sucker for, so excited for the new album
WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST LISTEN TO
from the very first seconds, i knew i was listening to something special. i thought it was just gonna be an album full of songs that sound cool and easy to vibe to, but then “lost cause” hit, and i completely lost it. that was the moment i realized this album wasn’t just good, it was something else. i thought “lost cause” would be my favorite, but that was just the calm before the storm. every single track after that felt even ... read more
