Playboi Carti's "Die Lit" is an album I always wrote off as bad and I never had much of any interest whatsoever in listening to it, under the assumption it was just like every bad thing I heard about Carti. After listening, I can say I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually fairly enjoyable for a good bit of it's duration.
Die Lit is a fun listen, despite very repetitive lyrics and subject matter I didn't find myself getting very bored which surprised me the ... read more
This record was solid, but I didn't really feel much listening to it. Only song that truly made me feel is Made In America, but that doesn't make it a bad project. A lot of decent songs to listen to but theres a fair share of skips on this project for sure and there's a noticeable lack of cohesiveness in the production. Solid project.
WOW this was good. Alchemist had one of the best performances I've seen on a producer collab album in recent years. Freddie Gibbs was consistently great, the FEATURES DELIVERED SO HARD. Tyler's verse is for sure one of his best maybe in his whole career. Everything was so good at all times, and it didn't over-stay its welcome whatsoever, if anything I would've preferred if this had up to 15 tracks :sob:. THIS is how you make a great album, perfect.
I give this record a 63 but I actually enjoyed it more than I'd enjoy the average 57/100 album, there was just a lot of not-great songs. The high points on here are REALLY good, the album starts SUPER strong, but unfortunately just starts to slowly decline with far and few great moments in-between after the interlude. Still like a good amount of these songs.
Rodeo is a very interesting album that kind of has a sonic vibe unlike anything else I've heard. It does so much and despite that there isnt really any tracks that feel too out of place. One of my main issues with the album is that some songs like 3500 and Ok Alright are too long for sort of no reason for what I can tell. I feel like the runtime could have been cut down a bit. There's a lot of really good songs here though, 90210, Nightcrawler, PoYG, and Maria, Im Drunk are all really ... read more
