When the discourse is more popular than the album itself

Fantano's review wasn't just a "1/10" review, it was a "light to decent 1", not a "strong 1" which would've put it closer to 2. The "light 1" is closer to a 0. ("decent" is in the middle) Literally on any other day of the week he would've given this record a 0 given how unhinged his reasons were.

The Great Impersonator fails to do much with its various sources of inspiration.

I'm actually pretty shocked that fantano never acknowledged this review again. Not to make the conversation about the review but it is to this day one of his most polarizing reviews for a pretty damn good reason. You think you would say something especially since he's respond to multiple reviews that were panned like this? Maybe because he doesn't really have that much of a good response outside of it was a bad take, I don't know. It's just always strange to me. Anyways outside of the drama I never hear that much about the music itself so is it any good?

Because of Fantano I never listened to this, not because his opinion, I couldn’t care less if I like it, but because I got so annoy that even to this day nobody could shut up about it. I’ll probably check it out eventually tho cuz it seems like it’s my style if music I like tho so.

There was so much commotion about both the P4k and Fantano review when this came out that I was kinda stunned to see this with green critic score

i think it should be noted in his review fantano actually doesn't talk about her health issues. not inherently a defence of him but also ppl seem to think what he said was "halsey singing about her cancer diagnosis is her having main character syndrome" when it wasn't really that at all

I genuinely feel very bad for Halsey. She has suffered A LOT. And fuck Fantano for saying that her singing about her numerous health issues "main-character syndrome". Dude never apologised for that comment either.

I haven't even listened to this tbh, but we really shouldn't have let people forget about the Fantano thing

This album deserves more than 72, it should've been 75 at the very least.

We should all give obligatory hate comments to Fantano for giving this a lower score than 143 when this is a 4 at the very least and an 11 for me.

Every time I look back at this comment section, I lose more braincells, how do you not see the irony at getting mad over a review from months ago, and not see that as insensitive to Halsey for making the entire conversation about that. The review is bad get over it.

how i feel knowing that this albums legacy will outlive everybody who hated on it and go down as one of the best albums of the 2020s
