This a pretty solid effort and keeps a good pace. A very mid level entry in the discography but certainly not bad.
The Fall by this point had already released over ten records - and on their 1991 effort "Shift-Work" they finally disappoint. While not an awful project, there is no denying that this is a misfire - the album sounds bored with itself. These tracks either feel like watered-down "Extricate" outtakes or spineless, placid attempts at moody or introspective cuts that completely miss the mark.
