this album slowly started to lose me as it went on, the lyricism seemed to be my biggest complaint about this… also sonically it did a nosedive during the second half. on the positive side, it has this carefree side that drags the record along in a palatable and cohesive way.

What a debut! Yeah, welcome Debbie with her band Blondie in my musical world when I was a fifteen year old teenager. Therefore my rating will be biased because of romantic thoughts and beautiful memories. Nevertheless Blondie's eponymous album was a fresh powerful pop album which lacks something to compare at that times. In addition, the rather slow songs such as "In the Flesh" were able to catch teenies at that times.

This is a very safe album, the lyrics a touch boring and the sound nothing too groundbreaking. In The Sun was a song with a bit more pizzazz to it, but the lyrics are so dumb that I couldn't even enjoy it really. The lyrics were again dumb but I liked the synth on Man Overboard. I was a bit disappointed in this, I am looking forward to listening to other Blondie albums in the future as I don't think this one was my taste.

oof, this is so good, this is like new wave/pop+punk rock perfection, it's full of so many intertwining concepts and i think it's just done to absolute perfection, it has such a fresh sound even in 2026 and her variation of vocals on this album is so impressive! i also like how ambitious this album is in terms of lyricism and the confidence she has in her voice, and i especially like how in control you can tell debbie is in this album, everything feels intentional and it works ... read more
