Heather Findlay Band - I Am Snow
90

I had to give this a very high rating as this has become one of my favourite folk albums. In many ways because this is an example of what is likely my favourite folk sound. I would recommend this album for fellow fans of Renaissance, Harmonium, Loreena McKennitt, Baldur's Gate/The Witcher or just New Age music in general. It certainly has that enchanting fairytale sound that I love to sink into myself. Like resting by the fireplace a medieval inn while enjoying the company of a melancholic ... read more

Alanis Morissette - Feast On Scraps
80

I am surprised how much I enjoyed Feast On Scraps knowing this was just a collection of unreleased B-sides from Under Rug Swept. I would say I enjoy this about the same as that album. In particular I really dig the intense songs here that are Fear of Bliss, Sister Blister and Unprodigal Daughter. The softer ballads were a bit mild and umemorable to me this time and brough this down a notch. Purgatorying had such a promosing build up and I was thinking it would be my favorite here, but ... read more

Carpenter Brut - Leather Teeth
87

Even though Carpenter Brut is not metal I used to often put some of his songs like Roller Mobster and Turbo Killer in my loud metal playlists for good reason. I don't know how Carpenter Brut manages to make some of his synth music heavier than most metal music, but I really dig it. The title track Leather Teeth goes so hard on full volume and makes me want to start a moshpit in my living room with my furniture. Yes, I would look insane. I also love Monday Hunt which is similarily epic and ... read more

Revisit 2025
(oops i mean 2026, happy new year everyone)

84 -> 84

I remember not caring all that much about Caravan's previous albums (I need to try them again), but this one really landed for me back then. And it still does.

The opening track here is awesome .The moment the main motif returns at 2:05 with the added orchestra is my defintion of the word "cool". Love it. The first half of the track is such an engaging build up of tension. The second half is quite the ... read more

The Beatles - Revolver (2022 Mix)
74

* I'm just reposting this review to the correct release of the album this time (the 2022 mix).

I didn't write anything new. I did relisten to this recently and i enjoyed Taxman and She Said She Said a lot more this time around which bumped the rating a bit.

---OLD REVIEW (a bit outdated):

I noticed a clear pattern about my enjoyment of Revolver today:
Paul: I think all his songs here are great and ones that I find myself putting on.
John. A mix of good (and creative) and ... read more

These are not really recommendations, just my own personal enjoyment - nothing more. Putting numbers on music is also impossible, so I don't take this very seriously. The Track Score listed on ...
