A perfect snap shot of 60s pop music by the Bee Gees. When people think of the brothers Gibb they think of disco and disturbingly tight trousers but there is an argument to say that these early albums were their best work.
Essential Track - I've Gotta Get a Message to You
Idea is another solid effort from the Bee Gees as their production is truly sounding better and better with each new record, this album doesn't sound like it was recorded over 50 years ago. Although I slightly prefer their previous release, Idea is a decent body of work too. One thing that is a prime example on this album is how quirky some of their lyrics are (for example: "I've Decided to Join the Air Force), that end up setting them apart from other acts of the time.

This is a very nice project. It's not exactly my style, so I struggle to think super highly of it, but I did enjoy listening quite a bit. Easily my favorite track on this is "I Started A Joke". Not only is it one of my favorites in how it sounds, but I discovered the song in its incorporation into the soundtrack of Baby Reindeer on Netflix. It's very well placed there, and so I just connect it to that heavy scene and really appreciate the elements that build it up especially so.
