Perfecting what Black Sabbath first hinted at decades ago, Dopesmoker is the crowning achievement of the Stoner Metal movement.
Call it an almighty stoner metal joint-obliterating masterpiece all you want, but damn it isn't this a gradually adding nudge to your patience. I wanted Dopesmoker to be this gargantuan apex that would tantamount to tectonic plates violently colliding against each other. THOUGHTS:
Stoner Metal at its peak. Sleep brings us a mix of Prog Metal, Stoner Metal and Prog-Rock, with one of the most legendary songs (Dopesmoker) of all of Prog music.
The guitarist must've gotten really tired of playing the same riff for an hour straight. This album is about 6 times too long
